Well thank god for ignorance, let's hope management feels the same way.
But then plastic Mancs are mostly of the same vein.
He's been carrying Spurs the whole season and would be a huge loss and tremendous gain for any
team if and when he was to leave.

YUP! Could be FIGS.
But he has ten men [sorry, nine] running for him right now.
We shall see, if/when he puts himself out there.

He defends corners/free kicks as good as any centre half; he is responsible for most of Sonny's (and others) goals when he drops deep and he even manages to pop one or two in himself, not forgetting he's a pretty useful keeper too. Personally I feel he does a lot more work than most give him credit for. My only issue with him is his diving, which is becoming a little too obvious now.

That's just how the game is now Aspro.
We hear of players [winning] penalties, I can't tell you how that grates with me.

Europe had it long before us. I recall playing in Belgium once (amateurs) and they were diving all over the place. It ended up in a 22 man brawl!

Yep, I totally agree.
We must have quite a laughing-stock back in the day.

It was either the Euros or World Cup Finals a few years back and he was absolutely dreadful.

I don't see many Spurs matches at all but the odd one I catch (obviously I see him against United year after year) he seems to do very little.  I've no reason to dislike him I'm just saying what I see.  I wouldn't say it against De Bruyne, wouldn't say it against Foden, Salah, even Son so why am I saying it about Kane? ................ Just saying what I see that's all.

Often when I've seen him he seems to hardly even get a touch let alone play well.

Well we've all got our own opinions but for me he's vastly over rated and I really hope United don't sign him.

I think he's wasting his career at not a great Spurs and he is about 28 now after all so I suggest he go.  I'm sure almost all of the top clubs will be interested, he just doesn't do it for me that's all.

Managers like Mason/Southgate allow him to moonlight as a deep lying creator while some poor sap(Sterling or Son)who is not suited to the CF role is saddled with his day job

If he goes to a bigger club I doubt he will be so indulged.  They will spend big money for a CF and they'll expect him to do that job all the time

I don't watch him every week so just my observations

Of course Grealish is up there too, England are spoilt for choice in the diving department.

According to some on here Kane does nothing apart from score goals. Didn't he get the most amouny of assists this season?

Yes.  Besides being top goal scorer, top assist provider, best playmaker and defender he doesn't do an awful lot.

He's deceptively good which doesn't work well for many on here I'm sure...
great hold up play which always gets under rated, good first touch, great finisher, great header, unselfish despite his scoring ratio, retains humility despite success...

clearly not the most nimble or spectacular but doesn't really need to be

This thread was not about Kane's other qualities as a footballer, it was about the England captain being a diver and a cheat.

fantastic player but most definitely a diver, knows how to invite a challenge and then throw himself to the floor at the slightest touch, plus ca change.

It's only British and Irish players that were naive enough not to use even the most marginal contact for free kicks and pens for years...

massive credit to Owen for moving that on and the more the merrier come tourny time -though Kane certainly doesn't strike me as an especially obvious 'offender'

If Kane signed for Man Utd I think he would be more hated and villified by his home fans than even van Persie was.  Don't think it would be so bad if he signed for City though.  And he probably will in my view.

Wasn't Van Persie loved by the United fans?
By:

He should have been - he almost single-handedly won them the title that year, but Arsenal fans till don't forgive him for his move.  No I'm thinking about the Spurs fans should Kane sign up.  I personally have no axe to grind against United but I know that in many areas, particularly London, they are hated and I feel sure that Kane signing at OT would trigger revulsion against their golden boy.

Oh I see what you mean now, thought you meant United fans didn't like him.

Unfortunately I think  you can't get away from the fact that whilst Spurs are a big club, one of the biggest in the country, United are a complete different level.  By a mile the biggest team in this country and possibly the biggest in the world so if you had to choose between the two it's a complete no contest.

Not saying that purely as a United fan it's just the truth isn't it.

Kane is just a penalty taker in modern football.

For Kane to fav for top scorer is some sort of joke, england will always go out on a nil nil lost on pens.

I hear this a lot about Londoners hating Utd, but it isn't as common as some might think. The hatred is probably people born and raised in London supporting Utd for no other reason than their successes. They think they're cool supporting a successful team whilst the rest of us see them as d1cks. As for hating Utd, the club, these are few and far between.

City would be our preferred choice, but most Spurs fans agree that he deserves to get something out of his career and if he went to Utd instead I don't think too many of us would make that a major issue in our lives. Yes, a few might, but less than you might think.

Ok Aspro - many thanks mate.  A pal of mine, a Spud, isn't keen on a United move but like you doesn't grudge Harry - who seems a smashing lad by the way - a football golden pension type move.  Good luck.

They should rebrand England the Harry Kane team international version.  To compensate for his shortcomings (which he tries to hide by going walkabout in midfield) somebody has to sacrifice his natural game.  Sterling is out of form and Son is Korean so it will probably be Rashford or Grealish.

Weak management methinks.  A good striker lacking a bit of pace and/or movement to be really top draw.

Its only this season though that Kane started defending and playing midfield for Spurs so i place the blame on Mourinho when he should have been doing what he's good at scoring more goals instead of poncing about in midfield

Building the Tottenham team around HK hasn't really worked out imho. And I'm still whipped-off about his appearance in the Champions League Final. "I'm fit, boss, honest". THFC could've won that game sans Harry. Liverpool were nervous and it showed. As for the diving, yes, he does, sadly.

I'm struggling to believe this one because it came via 'The Metro' which I see as a paper that rely on guesswork and is seldom correct. Nevertheless, they've posted an article today saying that City have approached Spurs with an offer of a straight swap for both Jesus & Sterling. Levy has rejected this offer as he is looking for a cash deal ONLY of £150m.

Make of this what you will.
