Can anyone explain betfairs VAR rules?

Take man utd match. First "goal". AC Milan ball in the net. Betfair records it as a goal. But the flag is up and its no goal. Betfair resuspends/cancels offers. But my bets in between the 2 suspends appear to have stood.

Same thing happened again 5 mins later with a hand ball - but this time bets in between suspends cancelled?

So it seems if VAR changes anything then bets cancelled. But this doesn't make sense when bf wrongly suspend and reopen/close markets as if theres a goal when it isn't - which seems to happen an awful lot.

Was the "first goal" ever recorded as a goal.
The flag was up and VAR didn't change that decision.

Not the same thing at all.

Betfair do make mistakes but not in this case.

Turkish game today and a game last week i have made  lay bets after a goal was scored when the suspension ended and they got matched, there was no referral to VAR who were not involved as both goals were fine yet bizarrely Betfair cancelled both my lays, Confused !

Leagues with VAR can be stressful

The amount of times they are back at the centre circle, ready to re-start only for the ref to have his finger on his ear piece is amazing, you'd think they'd have collared him before that

It is time when a stupid offside is called (the prem mainly) the players agree before the match that if that happens we'll give you the goal back straight away anyway

Imagine the tw*ts faces that are trying to control the match?

No doubt they'd get the media to demonise the fook out of them for doing so though

I have just contacted Customer services re my lay bet in the Turkish game as i knew whoever was responsible for managing that market had messed up by voiding bets placed after the suspend had ended following the 5th goal of the match as VAR was not involved it was a perfectly good goal yet after my bet was matched the game was bizarrely suspended again and wiping out my lay bet when it reopened so i wanted to know why this happened,at first i was told my bet had never been matched which was incorrect as i saw that it had been matched and it became obvious to me that Betfair had mistakenly voided suffice to say i was credited with a small amount which i would of won as a free bet so i am glad that i decided to ask for answers as i don't normally bother.

Initially according to Betfair the first goal was recorded as goal. Bets cancelled, market reopened or kept closed if decided - and this seems to happen with every disallowed goal, no matter if VAR is involved or not.

Indeed although I haven't been watching closely it seems the same thing has happened in the Leeds Chelsea match. Spikes in the match odds prices for both teams when Leeds had a goal disallowed, and presumably Betfair did a instant suspend/reopen (or those prices wouldn't have been matched).

Would better if these bets were voided imo (I guess my argument isn't really with the VAR rule but all these ghost goals bf give which happens more often now)

Again Betfair did everything correctly and you are complaining.

They suspended the market and voided unmatched bets.

It's up to the customers whether or not they want to wait for 100% clarity
before placing futher bets.

Betfair should only void bets when VAR changes a decision which is exactly what happened in the
3 examples you've given.

Consistently recording goals as having been scored when they haven't does not equal doing everything correctly in my book.....
Report JML March 13, 2021 1:45 PM GMT
What do you mean "recording"
Report bingo bongo March 13, 2021 1:51 PM GMT
Suspending markets/cancelling unmatched bets/reopening markets (but not ones that have been decided by the "goal".

I get this isn't as easy now with VAR but betfair used to have a system where they suspended and then waited to see if a goal stands - but now its an automated reset (cheaper)
Report JML March 13, 2021 2:01 PM GMT
What are they suppose to do when the ball hits the net?
Report bingo bongo March 13, 2021 2:16 PM GMT
Ideally suspend and wait until the match restarts. Might not be possible (3rd party data) or economical (staff costs) anymore.

Tbh if your saying bf are being consistent and the rules are clear then thats obviously the most important thing (although a quick search shows there have been a few games with disagreements).

See someone got £6 on 0-0 at 1000 so I'm sure they agree with the policy! Is this you JML!

This time its not Betfairs fault, nobody brave enough to stand up and be counted, not only has VAR ruined betting on football, but they have also ruined the game of football, and if anyone involved in football speaks out and says VAR IS SH1TE they will be charged with taking the game into disrepute,it long past time that football followers all over the world should call VAR what it is.Grin
