The prize money for EFL cup is so bad, the winners only get £100,000, whereas Europa League gives you millions even just in the group stages, then there's millions more should you qualify into knockouts. EFL is a path into Europe but you'd have to win it outright. Spurs are much better focusing on Europa League and the Premier League. You get more money in the Preliminary rounds of Europa league than you do for winning the EFL cup. If it didn't have a European place attached to it, it would be almost worthless

the problem with signing Cavani is that's a very expensive bench-warmer who's past his peak. This is the Premier League not the MLS. it's like when Falcao came to the Premier League, very similar players and it didn't work out. I wouldn't do it. Spurs have enough good players to compete as they are. With the state of finances as they are in English football right now Cavani just seems like another waste of money
