we offered nothing after going a goal down

bad result there as thought Hughton was building up some consistency and didn't see Luton winning tonight

To be fair we were the better side until they scored but after that we offered nothing, still looking toothless in the goals for column

Penalty at end for Swansea absolute disgrace cheating diving but the PC brigade at Sky won't call it for what it is stating Oh he went down too easily and of course we get a clueless naive gullible ref willing to oblige FFS

Hi SS,
I'm still around....and thanks for your concern mate.  Grin

Yeah, we were lucky to get to HT without being a couple down, although in all fairness our keepers only had to make two decent saves (one was very good) for all your pressure.
We improved a lot after the break and the goal certainly knocked the stuffing out of your guys.

Dewsbury-Hall was a star for us again (but he's only on loan from Leicester until the end of the season Sad) and the new lad up front (Adebayo) looks potentially a very astute signing.
The other good thing we've discovered in the last couple of matches is that our right 'winger' (Jordan Clark) seems to be a much better right back! He has just had two excellent games in a row.

Have only missed watching one of our games so far this season (the home victory over B City) and our recent slippage has been due to often playing well and not got the points we deserve from a match or - several times - we have been clueless and atrocious!!

Congratulations on your boys recovering from their very worrying start. It was looking as though we were gonna replace you in the relegation scrap a couple of weeks ago but we both now look destined for mid-table anonimity hopefully!

Take care,
Cheers,
Mad.

Good to see your well mad. We've lost 1-0 again today, can't score sadly and getting what we deserve at the minute.

Back in the mix again now Scared

Derby losing again as well, swings and roundabouts

Form changes in this league a lot

2 weeks ago us and Derby were one win away from top half almost, now we're both looking over our shoulders again Laugh

Swansea seem to be getting some right decisions lately, the one in midweek as well
Update for top 6

1 Norwich 76 pts (Pretty much gone Zzzzz Cry)
2 Watford 66
3 Swansea 65
4 Brentford 63
5 Reading 60
6 Barnsley 57 (On a ridiculous run, 7 in a row I think fair play)

Bottom 6

19 Derby 38 pts
20 Coventry 38
21 Birmingham 35
22 Rotherham 32
23 Sheff Weds 28
24 Wycombe 23

Barnsley could match Villas run a couple of seasons ago of 10 in a row, who else has done that in this league in the past? I'm sure Reading must have gone close in their record points season under Coppell?
By:

Also a special mention to Rotherham, who have become fond of getting their games called off this season, they have like 3 or 4 games in hand over the teams above them LaughCrazy

Derby fans pretty much saying Rooney's throwing another game (Cardiff the last one) with their line up, looking to get a win on Saturday

I'm miffed at how they think they can get away with that in this league, they lost 1-0 to Coventry on Saturday after trying the same tactic against Cardiff last week... insane really

Barnsley surely have to be winning this
By:
SontaranStratagem
When: 10 Mar 21 18:29
A club like Derby in the 2nd tier shouldn't be giving up any match ffs, Rooney should be sacked if that's what he's pulling CrazyCrazy
By:
SontaranStratagem
When: 10 Mar 21 18:30
Sacked and no pay off surely? if he's deliberately sabotaging their chance of points then its a sackable offence on its own that. Should be suspended for 2 years as well.

Says something about this league when Norwich are winning it on the bridle

Closed shop? I'm all for the prem breaking away and the Championship becomes our top league, take the parachute payments of the clubs remaining and it'd be an entertaining league in my opinion

Ref Norwich

The Boro wanted Ben Gibson in the Summer - he was training with them. He had fallen out with the Ginger One at Burnley. Gibbo was probably on around £40k/week and Burnley wanted a fee - the Boro could offer around £20k/week for a loan for the season and to play him. He never played at Burnley. I assumed they judged he was not Prem quality.

Norwich came in and paid £40k/week and paid a £2m loan fee for the season and they got him. Thats quite a difference from the Boro offer.

We are playing some good stuff at the moment....looked good on Saturday (but lost!) and looked very good tonight.
Some excellent one touch stuff, admittedly against 10 men in the second half, but we are entertaining to watch.
If we had a playing surface that wasn't like a Sunday morning park pitch pile of sh1te then i think we'd look even better.
Adebayo was a great find by our management.
Once again though Keiran Dewsbury-Hall was outstanding...i'd love to think that Leicester would let us buy him before next season.

Norwich are practically up now as well so good business on their part

Derby battled back, Brentford wobbling again?
By:
SontaranStratagem
When: 17 Mar 21 20:56
Norwich head and shoulders above the rest with Watford pretty much finding form at the end despite sacking more managers than I've had hot dinners

Closed shop sadly Sad the parachute payments are just to big to compete against nowadays, when Watford can behave how they do and still coast autos its time to admit its done. If Bournemouth win the playoffs then its just another boring season of yo yos ffs. WBA and Fulham will probably do the same next season as well (If Fulham go down)

Top 6 update

1 Norwich 82 pts
2 Watford 72
3 Swansea 69
4 Brentford 67
5 Barnsley 64 (on a run and a half, could yet sneak top 2 Crazy)
6 Reading 61

Bottom 6

19 Derby 40
20 Coventry 38
21 Birmingham 38
22 Rotherham 32 (do have 4 games in hand but are caped in the flu CrazyCrazy)
23 Sheff Weds 29
24 Wycombe 26

It is looking like Sheff Weds and Rotherham joining Wycombe

SS, Brentford have been wobbling for all the 75+ years I have been supporting them. They were shambolic in the 2nd half at Derby.
Another two points thrown away.
It makes no difference who the management or players are, we f**k up every time. Watford will go up with Norwich and we will get beat in the play-offs as usual. I feel sorry for Matthew Benham, the owner who has put a lot of money into the club.

Just put £20 on Derby to be relegated at 11/2, longish shot but they can't score and their run is quite tough

Might top it up before the end of the international break, with easter coming and games come thick and fast

Birmingham, Coventry, Rotherham (4 games in hand), Derby and ourselves all in there at the moment

Sheff Weds could still go on a run as well

Norwich and Watford have almost got the automatic places.

I would still make Brentford favs for the Play Off promotion place.

The relegated Premier teams have a very big advantage.

When: 05 Apr 21 15:49
Yeah the relegated sides will pretty go back up next season, Sheff U might struggle but they'll be pushing for playoffs

We're winning 1-0 Happy
By:
SontaranStratagem
When: 05 Apr 21 18:57
Swansea completely gone now might not even make top 6

Brentford only side that can catch Watford now

Barnsley could well make it at this rate as well, they could be 3rd by next week which is crazy to think after last season

My Derby relegation bet is gathering steam, got £90 on them so far at average odds of 11/2, will stick another £20 on it tomorrow and then see where it is after the next round of games, they have injuries and a lot of youngsters playing who don't seem to have much belief.

Good result for Cardiff today; losing 5-0 against a team in the relegation zoneLaugh
