Chosen by The Daily Telegraph as Liverpool's greatest ever player in 2015,Gerrard won a total of two FA Cups, three League Cups, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Cup, one FA Community Shield and one UEFA Super Cup in his 17 seasons at Anfield.
He was named in the PFA Team of the Year a record eight times, the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFA World XI three times, was named PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2006 and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 2009. Anyone who ever saw him play could not possibly deny that he was a fantastic player with a fantastic mentality. However, this doesn’t necessarily create the template required to be a successful manager. You will have to manage players who do not appear to have the talent and dedication that you displayed in your playing days. How you cope in such circumstances will determine your managerial success or otherwise. |

Alan Kennedy, Phil Thompson, Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Ian Rush, Sammy Lee, Craig Johnstone, Kevin Keegan, Tommy Smith, Emlyn Hughes, to name a few more serial winners.
And your point is? |

Gerrard is the only footballer to score in an FA Cup Final, a League Cup Final, a UEFA Cup Final and a UEFA Champions League Final, winning on each occasion.

How could Gerrard possibly be rated Liverpool's greatest player ? He couldn't dubbin Dalglish's boots, did the daily telegraph start following football when sky appeared ?
Only won one charity shield, but that's not his fault as he never got many chances to win it,as the league winners are always one of the teams competing. |

Should maybe read the definition of Bigot you imbecile.... |

Malay, Daglish was the fulcrum for sure, but he played in a team of great players that dominated Europe and England.
It is unfortunate for Gerrard that he played for a Liverpool team well below that standard. That Gerrard drove Liverpool on speaks volumes and it is no surprise at all to me he was voted Liverpool's greatest ever player. |

Greatest Ever polls are a bit of fun to be taken with a healthy pinch of salt.
Without a clear definition of “greatest”, you are simply asking voters to select their favourite. |

Hahaha.
Read your posts on the thread.... They tell all. Loved Gerrard the player, unfortunately his achievements as Rangers manager do not match up, something you seem to have missed. And continue to miss. Read the definition of bigot, and while your there check troll too, you'll find it likely says Pushkin99,the biggest troll on this forum bar none. Keep digging. I'm enjoying you trying to post your way out of the mess you have yourself in. Now the self proclaimed voice of LFC. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We agree on one thing then soph, cos King Kenny was also my favourite ever Liverpool player.
Kenny had so many shared memories with the supporters. I will never lose that image from my mind, when Kenny stood in front of us at the Kop, arms raised raised in celebration, taking the acclaim when he scored against Spurs as we went on to win the league that day winning 3-1. My favourite sporting memory. |

The thing about gerrard that I respect most is his loyalty
common knowledge Madrid and many other clubs tried to lure him away from anfield but there was only one club for him how many players capable of that ? a born leader and a proper example to any younger player or teammate , led by example on and off pitch and that's why he is one of the most respected figures in the game , to suggest otherwise is stupidity as for management , people are forgetful and I include a lot of our own support here whos behaviour on social media is embarrassing at times when he took over we were getting dumped out of Europe first go by farmers , getting pumped by septic almost every game and even more inconsistent than we are now , a lot of these things have improved wont say he hasn't made mistakes of course he has , but if our support and media hound the man out of Scotland they will never get anyone in that seat with more passion or more hunger to give the fans a winning team |

Sevco weren't spending millions on players when they were getting knocked out by farmers and miles behind Celtic.
Ofc they are better under Gerrard given the money he's had to spend. They were rock bottom and could only improve. It wdve been the same under any manager. Gerrard was in a no lose position when he took over but somehow he's still managed to 'lose' |

All about opinions but Alonso was a far superior player, tactically and tech locally.
Gerrard overrated snowboarder, decent player but nothing special wouldn't have got in Liverpool great teams. |
|
By:
Gerrard was superb. Lifted a mediocre Liverpool side time and time again, one of the all time greats imo.
Managerial career a failure so far but still young enough to turn that around given time |

Anyone questioning Gerrard the player needs to see a specialist....

On a side-note, has anyone ever seen or heard Gerrard laughing? I was trying to figure out what it is about him that unsettles me. I think it might be that.

There is no way Gerrard would have got a game before souness in the good teams. Souness was different class, hard as nails too. winner

Celtic were 2-1 down away to Livingston but grabbed a late equaliser.
No equaliser for Rangers though, finishes 1-0 to Hamilton, brings back memories of Adrian Sprott ![]() |

Losses to the worst two teams in the Premiership this week. Doing a blinding job IMO. |

Stevie Bhoy said he was 'all in' for Sevco recently, well he has gone all in with a high card, he has a **** hand and he knows it. Agent Gerrard making James Bond look like an amateur.
