Betfair will leave more than 30 UK football games “unmanaged” on its exchange when the season kicks off this weekend, as the negotiations around UK football data rumble on. The exchange firm emailed its market-makers and high-volume customers this week warning them about the unmanaged markets, which essentially means they won’t be suspended for goals,…

Odd this. It seems random set of matches rather than all League 1, League 2, etc.
I have noticed all Scottish Cup matches so far have been unmanaged too.

And unlike most unmanaged matches which just have "match odds" market available, there are other markets available unmatched such as goal markets, correct score, etc.

They had unmanaged goal markets in the UAE league this year. Why can't they just use the same provider as 3.65? Some feed providers offer a market management service, ie they automatically suspend the market for you. Betfair are obviously using this service, they don't have the staff to manage their own markets.

Yeah Darlo I don't know what they do there? Maybe there's some interaction with PP staff or something or they use PP feeds. Quite often they pull a match from the Exchange and say they can't get a feed for it and they have it in-play on the Sportsbook. They say they use different feeds for the Sportsbook when you ask them why.

That's what I was wondering and whether there will be matches available on the sportsbook but not exchange because of this. To be fair to BF, when it's other users' money at stake, it's very possible that the market management on the exchange has to be much better.

Betgenius has signed a major new deal with Betfred incorporating official data for all English and Scottish league football from the 2019/20 season onwards.
The five-year agreement sees Betgenius act as a primary in-play trading partner for the major sports of football, tennis and basketball, across both retail and online.
A key part of this service is live pricing on over 4,200 English and Scottish football fixtures per season, driven by official data from its exclusive agreement with Football DataCo, the data rights holder of all competitions organized by the English Premier League, English Football League and SPFL.
The season officially began in the opening round of the Betfred-sponsored Scottish League Cup on July 12.
Betfred is the first major UK sportsbook to sign up to the new Betgenius-powered scheme for official UK football data, which can be supplied as a raw feed for customers to build their own trading models or as a fully-traded service.

I've often wondered about that, the term " un-managed ". I mean does it really matter? Something happens, inplay, and even if you're not able to watch the game, the mkt tells you what's happening, doesn't it?

some people think they can punt on footy whilst watching sky, good luck to em.
unmanaged has been around before, ..newcastle in championship was unmanaged for a while, crowd noises on radio are the way forward !

It matters because you basically can't bet in play in an unmanaged market without being at a huge disadvantage. Any major action is an easy hoover opportunity and it will be those that aren't aware that lose out. Especially as said if people seriously think their Sky pics are in line with real time which the majority probably do.
