"EasyJet's chief executive, Johan Lundgren, has defended his airline's high ticket prices to fly to Madrid for the Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool on 1 June.
Football fans complained to BBC Radio 5 live that flights around that date cost £1,000 instead of £250 normally."

There are a number of alternatives - for example fly to Alicante (yes Alicante) which has a high-speed rail link to Madrid, about 2 hrs 30 minutes. In fact you could get much cheaper accomodation in Alicante and "commute" to Madrid. Any other suggestions?

There was a discussion on this the other week, I recommended doing what you're doing, flying to Valencia or Alicante and working your way from there, naming no names but n88uk said nobody would be arsed to do thatGrin

staying for a few days either side in malaga then train in on the day, all nighter on the pish and back first thing in the morning
