It was a hatchet job on Gray by Murdoch owned Sky because Andy Gray had sued the Murdoch owned News of the World over his phone being tapped in the Phone Tapping Scandal at the time.
Keys was just unluckily caught up in the collateral damage.

People that worked there were sick of them behind the scenes with their misogynistic
behaviour, they thought they were untouchable, Keys as it turned out cheated on his wife who had cancer at the time with his daughters friend, in hindsight the sacking was even more pleasing. There's also no need to have mocked women's football the way they did. Funny only to simpletons.

I don't think taking the piss out of womens football by laughing for 2 minutes straight (see on youtube) can be described as mild sexism, I actually liked Gray before I saw all that, but Keys has always been a cringy, brown nosing type with very false matey banter, I always thought it strange that he shortened top players names as if he were best mates with them, like he was trying to fit in with the ex-players old boys club.
I don't think anyone missed Keys I think they missed Gray if anyone but now nobody really cares anyway.

I am excluding Scotland in this, but in the 1970's was it only me and my mates who wet ourselves laughing at the hightlights from Scotland, with the Scottish goalies.
