Champions League is back.

Morning prices:

Barcelona 1.13 - 12.5 - 29 PSV
Inter 2.76 - 3.35 - 2.98 Tottenham

Club Brugge 4.4 - 3.9 - 1.93 Dortmund
Crvena Zvezda 7 - 4.1 - 1.63 Napoli
Galatasaray 1.74 - 3.85 - 6 Lokomotiv
Liverpool 2.14 - 3.9 - 3.65 PSG
Monaco 5.5 - 3.55 - 1.86 Atletico Madrid
Schalke 2.56 - 3.35 - 3.2 Porto

Strongly fancied Spurs to do over Inter after the draw was done, but recent form is very off putting where they've looked poo. Inter haven't looked good recently at all either though, and generally are living off reputation in media's minds, tough one to call though as odds probably suggest now.

Atletico Madrid have started the season very poorly after what was imo a great transfer window for them, they haven't got going at all yet. They have been slow starters in the past too, but I couldn't get involved in this. This price is the same price they were away to Celta Vigo a few weeks ago and I'd have Monaco as (narrowly) better than them. In theory you'd say home advantage is worth more in Europe too, though in reality I imagine it varies place to place and Monaco is quite literally the least intimidating away day in Europe. Monaco's recent form also is not inspiring.

Liverpool vs PSG definitely match of the day. Tend to think anything could happen here. You've got 2 front 3s with bags of goals in them. Would tend to side with PSG at these prices, but it's not going to be surprising whatever happens here, could see either team running riot on their day as both are capable of piling in quick goals.

From the rest, Galatasaray's price looks particularly bad.

Report n88uk September 18, 2018 9:36 PM BST
There's just too much ego in the PSG team. Like I said Neymar worked when he was first at Barcelona and not the top dog, now he acts like the top dog at PSG, and they've got too many luxury players. You can't carry 3 players vs top opposition.

top of the french league and winning 5.0 almost ever week

yet they cant even cope against the first half decent side they meet in Europe

no way can they even think about winning the champions league
Report Ibrahima Sonko September 18, 2018 10:15 PM BST
Doesnt make them garbage, they are in the top 6 teams in europe. Losing 3-2 away to Liverpool isnt that bad a result. They play in a weak league which may work against them but then again it may make their players fresher at the end of a season, the epl is the opposite.
Report thelatarps September 18, 2018 10:18 PM BST
Err
PSG were injury time seconds from getting a point at one of the best teams in europe.
They didnt park the bus, they came and they played.
They need to learn to see out these games.
But I thought the sideshow bob figure in the center of the park, Rabiot looked good and MBappe was a constant danger.
Its funny.
I guess I am not alone living in this sceptred isle and being a paris fan for the night.
Someone once wrote of the 99 final between man u and bayern.
England became a country of largely bayern fans for that night and germany became a country of man u fans.
That gentlemen is what the champions league is really all about.
Report Platini September 18, 2018 10:29 PM BST
deserved victory for Pool in the end, and strange performance from PSG esp in 2nd half. Are they lazy or just complacent ?
They are freakishly talented, and look like they have gears to go thru, when they can be a.rsed. Maybe they just need a top class manager. Tuchel seems a bit of a clown (a Klopp wannabe with a sh1t CV) and their last manager was clueless tactically.

Liverpool clear favs to top the group now and no reason why they can't go deep again this season.

PSG were poor but they've only just got a new manager in. I suspect he won't make them better but give the guy a chance FFS. Same mugs were writing Real off for the CL before Xmas last season
Report n88uk September 19, 2018 8:19 AM BST
It's the players that need the wake up call, ie. they won't win the CL if they aren't going to work much harder than that. No team wins CL with that poor a work rate. There's enough quality in the team but they've just got to work harder for the team or they won't be going anywhere. Not like the manager can be sending them out to leave that many gaps all over the pitch.
Report DirkDiggler September 19, 2018 10:50 AM BST
PSG aren't winners. I don't care how many Ligue 1 titles they have won by Christmas either. Real Mardrid are winners.
Report Afc888 September 19, 2018 12:34 PM BST
They missed Veratti big time last evening. The difference between the two teams for me was off the ball. Liverpool/City have improved a huge amount without the ball the last couple of years it makes a huge difference considering the way they both play.

In this day & age you cant afford players like Di Maria/Neymar literally walking around not offering anyway off the ball especially against the bigger teams they get exposed (Arsenal being a great example of this over the last few years Ozil) Neymar last night from the short corner was embarrassing he was stood about a yard away from the guy. He stood & watched him run to the byline without even making an effort to make up for the error nearly conceding. It's small things like this that let them down from being a top top team & that comes down the complacency for me. Very enjoyable game mind.
Report Platini September 19, 2018 1:49 PM BST
Veratti a big miss, for sure.  Not to mention Dani Alves.
Report Afc888 September 19, 2018 6:33 PM BST
Agree, if you put it into perspective though they didn't play great  against probably the strongest Liverpool team I've seen myself. I wouldn't be writing them off to soon PSG as Platini says Alves & Veratti to come back & later a two legged tie. PSG's home record is formidable any team would do well to beat them in France for me.I can't see Liverpool them not challenging to be honest I was surprised they were around 14-16/1 around the world cup time where as City were around 6/1 the gap isn't that great both teams are the best in Europe off the ball for me. Don't get me wrong City are a very good team I feel as though they're shorter than they should be & its based on Pep for me. I'm still yet to be convinced with him over two legged tie's. He had a couple of opportunity's with Bayern in recent years with a very good team & failed for me.
