Villa are the bottom of the BIG clubs or thereabouts.
Could it be simply the players know they either perform there or it's Burnley next? |

Carrick stays imo

Something has to change and rightly or wrongly it's going to be Carrick.

Jonny Evans or Fletcher will take charge for the Chelsea and Villa games, before they give the job to Howe who ticks the only relevant box, namely being placid.

I can see why Inios gave Carrick the job full time because any hiccups with a new man would have given them endless grief but surely they would have had the foresight to know he wasn't good enough realistically and have their homework done and a list of managers willing to step in at short notice.
First game of the season was a major red flag and despite a victory against Ipswich they out played us and should have been two up until they shot themselves in the foot and subsequently collapsed. The Everton game should have been his last but everyone just shrugged and talked about worldies, each subsequent game thereafter was more proof he wasn't up to it so why the wait ?, It's tanking the players, the moral around the club, Any slim chance of the new man having a chance to step in and hit the ground running. All gone because we as a club never learn and burn everything to the ground before admitting we made a managerial mistake and rectifying it promptly before too much damage is done and the steps built on to this point are not demolished and destroyed beyond repair. How many players need moving on now ?. Even some of the better ones need to go for their attitude and the lesser ones need selling at a point they are almost unsellable they've been allowed tank so badly. Even 50 60 million prem proven players need a structure to perform or they soon become the new deadwood. Having them unfit and sending them out to figure it out on the pitch themselves was just ludicrous in this day and age. The talk it's only Howe or Naggeslman is also a bit soul destroying if I'm honest. Get Conte in, give him 15 million until the end of the season on the condition he played 4 at the back mainly, declare it a 3 year contract to stop players trying to see him out and let him get some structure into this team and instill some grit and fight into them and then asses in the summer. Howe coming as a yes man or Naggelsman to fail trying to prove his point will not improve us long term although will probably give a short term boost. No we need to install some fight into these players not this high five sh1te they do. Conte has proven many times he can do that and massively improves average players along the way, Yes he'll fall out with some and the board but at this stage it's worth it imho. |
