This just proves to me that there are a lot of angry losing gamblers on the forum. We get to the semi final and people find something to moan about.Spend more time on picking your bets and less time on here.

They ARE world class!
And so are Colombia, who we drew with. And Tunisia are almost world class too. You are having a laugh. |
|
By:
Ok Rothman , what is YOUR definition of World Class ?
|
|
By:
I don't like mentioning losing bets ....as we all get them , but I fail to understand why any football fan who is English backing against England .....they really don't want us to lift the wc ?

wonder if the op is scottish....

I will recognise it when I see it Reynard, and I ain't seen it in any of the England matches to date.
|
|
By:
of course ...if he is not , we don't want him as an Englishman
|
|

It's become a national pastime to knock England at every opportunity. They should hang there heads in shame while we beat it with a wet lettuce.
|

Its like Christians who cant believe you don't believe in God.
There are many 000's of English people who like football but who dont support the England football team. |

Ok , excellent avoidance of straight answer .
My definition of a 'World Class side' is achieving a World Cup semi-final . Can't be judged on friendlies or qualifiers cos of all the dross involved . Can only be judged on the World Stage , an opportunity that only arises every four years . |
|
By:
`Their' team.
Most supporters of the likes of Everton/Lpool/Man U/Man C have no affiliation to the England team. They commit 100% to their team and there is no room for anything else. Carragher is one of the few brave enough to admit he would far rather win a trophy for Liverpool then England. |

Reynard
They ARE World Class ! The previous lot were world class (they said) although that golden generation were only world class at piling up cash and playing terrible football. |
|
By:
JC why resort to personal abuse 'cos you don't agree with my position.
This, by any standards, has been a sub-standard World Cup from a quality point of view, and that is my opinion. |
|
By:
captain carnage sounds self-hating.
|
|
By:
I can't be responsible for what 'they' said , whoever 'they' are .
I gave my definition , unlike others when asked politely . I would be interested to hear your definition rather than 'theirs' . Thanks in advance , Reynard . |

I agree with you Rothman Mike .
There is absolutely no excuse for personal abuse and name calling whether one agrees with the opinion of others or not . |

Reytard - Lots of European World Cup qualifiers are tougher than World Cup group games.
The champions league is a far higher standard of football than the World Cup. Any definition of `World Class' is booolcccs. |

I'm not sure who that was meant for ? .........

`club before country is another argument , ...but if you a football fan and English , who else you going to support'.
Whoever I have my money on or in the past when a special player was worth watching. Ie. Maradonna (Argies), Gasgcoine (England - ok I admit it), Romania (Hadji). |

The game today was surreal, it didn't feel like a WC Q/F, maybe it's England's new found belief, it was a total stroll.
Belgium will rip em though. ![]() |
|
By:
No I would give you 25k right now if you could guarantee Everton win the league within the next 10 years.
|
|
By:
`club before country is another argument'
That will change if England keep progressing. |

Bearing in mind that Everton are 200/1+ , any guarantee of their impending success would enable one to stake £1000 at such odds in the full knowledge that a maximum outlay of £10,000 would guarantee a return in excess of £200,000 . Take out your 'gift' of £25,000 and by my calculation you're £165,000 up .
Not a bad return for 10 years work ![]() |

Id back anything if I think its value.
It doesn't necessarily mean I want the bet to win. |

You can say "hype jobs" in the groups or last 16 but not when we've reached the last 4
We are no longer hype jobs at this stage we have gone deep in a major tournament and have the top scorer in our team plus a 6-1 win and a very easy 2-0 in a last 8 match This side has gone into the lions den and made it look easy in reaching a semi final ffs, we deserve a little respect. |

I had a lump on Brexit, thought it was way too big night before vote.
But my heart sank when I heard in morning. Just an abomination. Ok collected some short term winnings but over the next 20 years the wealth of the nation will decrease substantially and will likely affect me and my friends and family way more than the short term gain. |

07 Jul 18 17:47 if we win it , and I doubt that , but if we do , there will still be people who rather than say , well done , will moan , oh we didn't play anyone And still remind Gareth of his penalty miss back in euro 96 |
