Ffs the mug bets are already flowing & there's still 3 sleeps to the Final...

Rebic Red @25/1 & Own Goal @14/1 [Andrés Escobar didn't die for nothing] both with the early adopters 365.

Belgium v England....

They'll have their reasons for these games, whatever they are i don't care. Daft idea. In the spirit of the fixture then i'll be having some very small daft bets.

These games can often be quite entertaining with a high goal count and a respectable amount of cards. The fear of failure diminishes significantly for whoever starts, no one gives a donald duck about picking up a card for the next game & we'll probably see both sides set out to win it from the off without too much fannying about.  Muggy combo's all over the shop for a bit of interest.......

£5 ...BTTS & 3+ corners for each team & 2+ cards for each team  @11/2 sportsbook

£10...Over 1.5 Goals, Over 8.5 Corners, Over 25 Booking Points @11/8 slybet

£5 ...Over 2.5 Goals, Over 10.5 Corners, Over 35 Booking Points @11/2 slybet

£3 ...Over 3.5 Goals, Over 12.5 Corners, Over 45 Booking Points @28/1 slybet

£2 ...Over 4.5 goals, 15+ match corners and 70+ match booking pts @150/1 slybet

A pony invested just in case it's a case of familiarity breeds contempt between these two, they decide to get rid of their Final frustrations by slugging it out with the handbrake off & the Iranian ref has one last hurrah before the Military Industrial Complex flattens his country in a few years time.

gl as per, IDWM. Should be an open game. Fancy goals this avo. Main bet is over 10.5 corners. Taken the odds rather than buying on the spreads.

Make sure you start a new thread for the new season, squire!

Cheers DL. Hopefully you're right.

Not sure about any season long threads tbh, bit of an effort to consistantly churn them out especially when real work tends to get in the way Plain.

Slightly disappointing outcome for the 'action' backers yesterday with 2goals, 3cards & 9 corners. Money back from the pennies i laid out. I'm sure plenty of shrewdies made hay when the teams were announced tho.

France v Crotia...

Not really getting involved again financially, the temptation to have ago just coz it's the Final game & i've been lucky enough to have made a few quid is tempered with the cold reality that the cards mkts have been tricky to call throughout. A brief summary then of the muggier interest bets today...

Own Goal @14/1 365... As outlined previously at 14's we'd be making money blind both in recent PL seasons & albeit a much smaller sample size in this WC. 11 to date, obviously 365 fancy a low scoring encounter hence the carrot being dangled.

Rebic Red Card @25/1 365... a total folly hoping for this to come in tbh. Red cards seem to have been deliberately cleansed from the WC this year...1998-21 2002-17 2006-28 2010-17 2014-10 2018-4. Cards classified as Violent Conduct have been as rare as rockinghorse sh1t, 0 so far, there were 8 in 2006.  Rebic should've had 2 already imho, the fact he wasn't even booked for either assault says it all.

Perisic to score from outside the box @40/1 slybet
... Had a great tourney imo, decent shot on him & generally not afraid to have a pop. Unfortunately Modric & Rakatic seem to be above him in the free kick pecking order.

Paul Pogba & Ivan Perisic 1+ Shots on Target each @13/2
... Seems fair. Like the above, just another tenner interest bet.

As for the cards i've kept it simple, several respectable prices in the midfield area with Modric & Rakatic at 6's, Matuidi 4's but the obvious ones are Rebic @2/1 unibet & Strinic @7/2 Baldfred.

Rebic somehow got away with it versus England & just like backing an unlucky loser on the nags, it kinda grates to go on a retrieval mission next time out at a shorter price. I'm swerving it, but will be cheering it on for anyone looking for compensation.

Ivan Strinic to be shown a card @7/2 Fred
... Nice & simple, he's up against Mbappe. He's looked dead on his feet in recent games and usually doesn't make extra time. If he for some reason doesn't start his understudy Pivaric at 4's would be a play.

Draw HT/France FT @4/1 on the exchange... I'm sure the Evs about France will be popular, but i'll chance that the early exchanges remain even & the French take advantage of their youth, less game time & extra days rest to swoop home in the final furlongs.

Laters, thanks for reading/joining in with my ramblings Grin

great stuff yet again, IDWM. Some stonking prices. Hope you've filled the coffers with your WC bets!

Strinic should have also received a yellow for pulling back Mbappe at the end of the first half.

Cheers DL, was a very good couple of weeks.  I think a few yards further up the pitch and Strinic would've got the yellow.

very good thread.

Personally, I tucked away my Player / Referee bookings thread early doors when they were keeping them in their pockets though they seem to loosen them in the KO stages. Still, might do one for the new seasonShocked

IDWM, Rebic won the "foul league" - 22 fouls in 6 games. Quite a feat for a player in his position.

^ The one that got away in the summer ^ visits Wembley today.

His figures continue to offer value to his odds of becoming aquainted with the Ref's little black book.

Of the 13 apps this season for Frankfurt & Croatia he's accumulated 4 yellows & a red.

Even more impressive when considering the actual time on the pitch. Only 1 full 90 in them. Half a dozen coming on for the last 25-30, the rest being subbed around the same time zone.

I've had the 5/2 at Baldfred. Even if he doesn't start i'll be hopeful the loon would give the bet a chance from the bench.
