Been saying for (unfortunately) decades, that I want to actually go and see Sunderland officialy play away in Europe.

Came close at the turn of the millenium, but the last time was 7th Nov 1973

Please give us a chance this time.

61 year old.....look about 45  Wink.....over 50 years service and didn't think i'd ever see my team in europe....what's happened to our club this past 4 years has been tremendous and hats off to a young lad from Switzerland who has never courted the limelight but been brilliant for us.

Any supporter of an unfashionable club knows what it means to us ....all them years watching tosh to have a TEAM full of lads not from the area give everything for the badge is brilliant....we know it won't last long but by god we'll enjoy it as long as it lasts

Wish i had tenner for every time i bumped into a lad tonight who had just as many years supporting the lads as i had....all with a smile on their face..all of them knowing we're going through the good ole days Grin

no relegation prices up on here yet
Report Poppydog. May 26, 2026 1:22 PM BST
Possible reasons why we are so low-priced to get relegated next season:-

a) Europe and Thursdays exhausting a smallish squad
b) Agents urging our better players, to possibly leave to 'bigger' clubs (Le Fee, Roefs, Brobbey, Mukiele)
c) God forbid, RLB is poached by a 'bigger' club here, or in Europe
d) 2nd season syndrome - teams have now worked out our formation and style
e) Despite the brilliant last games 6 points, there are only 15 points to West Ham
f) Board and Executive shoot themselves in the foot, with decisions or appointments
g) Minus 6 Goal difference this season
h) Although it doesn't mean much to most people, our Season XG would have seen us relegated with Wolves and Burnley
i) Sheer bad luck

Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- May 26, 2026 3:03 PM BST
Because spurs nearly went down.

It's a tough league, there will be near misses next
season too, bookies won't offer inverse of those prices
so they are inaccurate, and geared to volumes they did
this time last season.

Glasgowcalling...whatever you do don't judge Dan Neil on his Ipswich stay...I watched the majority of Ipswich games last year due to financial reasons and i fully understand why they would be underwhelmed with him but that wasn't the real Dan Neil...he went there after no football for five months and for me he never fit right in, could never get any run of games to establish himself - he's way better than he showed there.

He's a good Championship player ..a good passer of the ball but after watching our midfield last season in the Premier League i can see why they never gave him a chance there - his athleticism wouldn't have been up to standard.

Personally i'm a big Dan Neil fan...loved watching him play football but hasn't kicked on as much as what i expected.

Wish him all the best and hope he does well for yous.
