Agree the performance wasn't the best however the result was achieved.
It's only four games in and players are adjusting to a new system.Do we have the correct players to play the system would be my question.Never thought I would say this but we need Will Osula back asap.

Was always gonna be away,they just had to rearrange the draa when manure unexpectedly got knocked out.Anyway i am hoping to be `away` myself that week.

I have been amazed and angered at the critism we and manager have had since agreeably bad game on monday.The manager has barely been there 6 weeks,he hasnt had a pre season with squad and has not had the chance to add his own players.On top of losing 4 or 5 very senior and best players,world class players,out of his squad,only to be replaced by very young inexperienced players.The lad and the team needs lots of time,patience and most importantly 100% backing by us all.He can only see how players perform in the heat of the battle in games so has to swap around until he sees best surely.

Surely that's always what the fans should be doing.

Was always going to be a season of change.

However even the small amount who frequent this fred,there are comments already about the manager.Some folk cant see beyond the last game.Some of the buys look very promising.Goalie and Toure the most at the minute imvho.Lets see how other teams respond under the lights at Leeds when they lose there most influencial midfielder and go a goal down to a total fluke within minutes, with a new midfield of 18 and 20 year olds.Nothing went right on the night.As long as we respond the right way on sarraday,that will be the test.

I prefer 3 inaal but it depends who you have behind them and in front.Conceding poor goals at home is the first thing we need to put right,a clean sheet on weekend will be a big plus.

was also injured so couldn't play v Leeds.

That, sadly, leaves a very makeshift midfield, that will take time, and yep,
Nico is very definitely one we are relying
upon to meld them together.

sets up less strong than 2 x 8s and a 6.

Bruno,tonali,gordan,trippier,burn and big joe is one hell of a hole o fill.add to that,scharr,tino and miley been out nearly 10 months so they need pitch time.you could even say botman needs a good run playing again.it leaves a very thin young inexperienced squad to pick from.i doubt many teams wouldnt have some negative reaction to that.

Agree with all that pointa, except Botman, he's had enough chances and his run of form just gets worse, should have been offloaded when he had some value imo.

The Magpies, who claimed a 1-0 victory against Millwall in Round Three, were handed an away trip against David Moyes' Toffees and the game will take place on Thursday 29 October, with kick-off set at 7:45pm (GMT).

A game where the result was more important than the performance so mission accomplished on that side of things A good 1st half but fair play to Hull who never gave up in the 2nd half and were the better team with over 20 shots in total. A good result as I say to go into the international break and hopefully a few players back as well

Agreed Bish, the result was more important than the peformance and just as well!! We tried to gift them a goal more than once and they didnt take their chances. Keeper was dodgy and so so lucky to get away with one but made a couple of good saves, Botman was his usual garbage self, Steur did well after a shaky start, I thought Miley was superb at full back but then gave the ball away when moved in to midfield that led to their goal. Pardo still settling in but to be honest he didnt do a lot, Wissa put a shift in but missing a penalty that would have put us out of sight.....

21 shots on our goal once again, its far too many and something needs to be worked out during the break, we had to make 55 clearances made compared to their 12 says it all about the second half onslaught, they also got in 33 crosses, ffs thats a lot.

Its 8 points from 5 games, I think most of us would have settled for that before a ball was kicked?

Just watched Jaissles post match interview; 9 players out today; suppose most teams would struggle with that. Totally agree with you about the 8 points

Strange how we see things.
I thought Pardo had a decent game, he had little service but his rapid pace was there to see as was his  closing in on the goalkeeper.
Decent atmosphere too, fans stayed with them throughout.
There were three or four, Wissa in particular out on their feet in the last 15 mins.
Take the 3 points get some bodies back and move on to the next.

Pardos closing down was a pleasure to watch and long may it continue but no shots on target for a forward at home not so good. As NP said on numerous occasions; we don't have a natural centre forward; there were some lovely balls played in the box today but no one to stick them in the onion bag

Botman was excellent too, not sure what he did wrong.

Goalie got away with one, but made his own luck by getting up and smothering it.

Dunno how Steur could have a slow start when we are 2 up after 7 minutes, and he ran the game when willock was alongside him.

Barnes was great for the goals and worked hard whole game.

Pardo and Steur ran themselves into the ground.

Hall was simply great too, some lovely touches playing out, and stepped forward to win ball that led to his goal.

Could have scored a pelanty, ffs, but led to a bit of excitement second half, another vfm game.

Pleasing that ref had a quite game apart from dealing with hull bench.

Monday the 12th October Coventry away our next match, thats a hell of an International break, three damn weeks because of the irrelevant Nations League ffs.

Two of Newcastle United's Premier League fixtures in November have been rescheduled after being selected for live television coverage.

The Magpies' visit of Premier League holders Arsenal on Saturday 21 November, which was initially set to kick-off at 3pm, will now take place at 5:30pm (GMT).

And United's game at Brighton & Hove Albion, which had been due to take place on Saturday 28 November, has also been rescheduled.

Matthias Jaissle's side will travel to the Amex Stadium for a 2.05pm kick-off on Sunday 29 November.

Both games will now be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Any further alterations to the club's fixture schedule will be communicated at the earliest opportunity.
