Newcastle United striker Sean Neave has joined Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the 2026/27 season.

Sean, who has represented England at Under-19 level, joined Newcastle's Academy as a 13-year-old and was part of the Magpies' 2025 Carabao Cup winning squad.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the club in February 2026, featuring in a 6–1 UEFA Champions League win over Qarabağ FK. On the final day of the 2025/26 campaign, he made his Premier League debut, coming off the bench against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

He now joins César Peixoto’s side who currently sit third in the Championship following a strong start to the season.

Everyone at Newcastle United wishes Sean the very best for his loan spell at Molineux.

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Guinea midfielder Ousmane Diabaté from Turkish Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği Ankara S.K.

The 18-year-old has returned to Gençlerbirliği on loan for the 2026/27 season.

Ousmane initially made the switch to Turkey in December 2025 after progressing through Académie SOAR in Guinea and made seven senior appearances across the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup.

He has caught the eye of multiple clubs across Europe, and the midfielder continued his rise last season with a senior international debut for Guinea, featuring in a friendly against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in June.

On his signing, Ousmane said: “From the moment Newcastle showed interest, I knew it was the kind of ambitious club I wanted to be part of. The project here is exciting, and the supporters have an incredible reputation. Feeling that energy behind me is something I’m really looking forward to.

“I always tried to approach every match with total commitment, working hard, giving everything, and
pushing myself to improve.

“My aim is to grow as a player and show people what I can bring to the team. I want to help Newcastle compete at the highest level and achieving things that make the club and supporters proud.”

Ross Wilson, Newcastle United Sporting Director, said: "We're very pleased to welcome Ousmane to Newcastle United. He's an exciting talent who has already shown real potential, progressing through a strong programme in Guinea before gaining valuable senior experience in Turkey.

"He's been on the radar of a number of clubs, so we're delighted he sees his future here with us - credit to our scouting team for identifying him early and working hard to get the deal done. It was a pleasure to meet him recently. We are following his progress closely.

"His exposure to first-team football at such a young age, along with his recent international debut, shows the trajectory he's on. Going back to Gençlerbirliği will give him the chance to continue the development he's already shown while remaining firmly within our long-term plans."

Leo now joins an Arouca team who sit third in the Primeira Liga table following a strong start to the campaign.

Nico González will make his home debut for Newcastle United in Saturday's Premier League game against Bournemouth, with fellow new signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo named on the bench.

United welcome the Cherries to St. James' Park (kick-off 12.30pm BST) with ex-Manchester City midfielder González set to make his home bow after an impressive showing in last weekend's win at Tottenham Hotspur, while Fernandez-Pardo - a deadline-day arrival from Lille - could introduce himself to the Magpies faithful if brought on by head coach Matthias Jaissle.

The United boss will field an unchanged side after the 2-0 triumph at Spurs, meaning Lukáš Horníček is in goal, with Amar Dedić, Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman and Lewis Hall in front of him.

González partners Lewis Miley in the middle of the park, with Joe Willock in front of them and Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes on the flanks.

In-form Yoane Wissa will lead the line for the hosts as they look for a first league win over the Cherries since 2020.

Fernandez-Pardo is joined by fellow attacking options Bazoumana Touré and Jacob Murphy on the bench, with Jacob Ramsey, Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba the midfield reinforcements.

Tino Livramento returns from injury to take his place among the substitutes, with Fabian Schär also listed. Nick Pope is the backup goalkeeper.

Newcastle United: Lukáš Horníček, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Nico González, Yoane Wissa, Harvey Barnes, Malick Thiaw (c), Anthony Elanga, Joe Willock, Amar Dedić, Lewis Miley

Half Time 1-2,and deserved. We dont have anyone playing at the top of their game and wehave too many playing poorly including both sentre halves, Miley needs to buck up as does Willock, Elanaga and Dedic when both high in the opposition  half we have no one covering that right side for counter attacks.

A good half time team talk needed...........

Their number 8 ran the  show, class act.

We just couldn't live with their press. I thought Bournemouth at the very least deserved a point.
Report Tiger Tiger September 5, 2026 2:50 PM BST
Agree with all of that.

Thats two games on the trot where we have a 100% strike rate with shots on  target, two on target, two goals, another game where there keeper didnt have a save to make otherwise.

Most of Thiaw's passes were nearly as concerning as the "performance" of the referee.
Report Trackman September 5, 2026 2:55 PM BST

Report Tiger Tiger September 5, 2026 2:56 PM BST

Elanga pulled off the ball for first goal.

Ref was serenaded throughout for his bias, or his little games, Pardo fouled gets nowt,
Barnes goal ruled out for nowt.

2 farcical goals conceded but you get them from
time to time.

Miley and nico seemed to have misunderstanding who was doing what and
seemed to be too close to each other much
of 1st half, like bad old days of Bruno Tonali.

Nico has much of ball so it was on miley to give him an out ball to progress.

Defenders never seemed to have an out ball
so coughed up too much possession.

Lovely goal from Barnes who lulled his fullback for most of half, then cut inside and
shot was a beauty.

Bournemouth could have scored more first half, and willock should have heeded us level early second half.

Pardo looks hot on the ball, and Bournemouth
settled for cheap free kicks rather than passing through us.

Deserved equaliser as once again space in front of box was exploited as it was v Liverpool.
Report Bish Bosher September 5, 2026 6:42 PM BST
Probably the most positive thing to come out of today was as bad as they played; they remain undefeated; Bournemouths high press worked very well for them but I can't for the life of me understand why we insisted on trying to play it out from the back so much; we played into their hands by doing this. Fair play to them though; 2 nil down and they clawed there way back
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- September 5, 2026 7:17 PM BST
We didn't have much forward to play it long

Willock possibly too close to wissa, and so
loose balls fell to Bournemouth who were simply so much better at filling the space
behind their excellent press.
Report Bish Bosher September 5, 2026 7:27 PM BST
Point i'm trying to make is; after playing it around the back getting into trouble Hornicek just belted the ball forward anyway so why not just get it out of harms way in the first place
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- September 5, 2026 7:44 PM BST
Yeah, pretty much they are looking for a gap, but
the press put them under pressure so we had
increasingly poor chances to hit it long to nobody.

Hornicek took a long goal kick first half and jasille had him over at next break and
told him to play it short.

Centre mids need to space out, to get free, as
do willock wissa,

Subs improved it.

Thing is we had height advantage in most match ups, bar our full backs, so long balls
would be OK(ish) .

I think Miley was expecting nico to go more direct, as at spurs, so maybe didn't work hard enough to
get into space to give him another option.

It's often a case that hitting it long from half way inside your half gives forwards a chance to run against high back line... Whereas goalie kicking it is heads up on half way line.

But I think jasille wanted them to persevere
with trying to beat the press, which caused the back passes and goalie punts.
Report nineteen points September 5, 2026 10:22 PM BST
So yarll agreeing we need a centre forward at last.

i dont know if we thought we had done the hard part after first 2 games but we were blatantly second best in every department in the first half.Everybody was poor.Obviously second was better but still not good enough.
