BTW Wissa stating that the new manager was the best signing is a total giveaway that Howe had lost the dressing room.

Newcastle United are delighted to announce the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo from LOSC Lille for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old Belgium international forward joins on a long-term contract and becomes the club's eighth first team arrival of a transformative summer transfer window. He will wear the number 20 shirt.
Matias arrives with a growing reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. Comfortable operating in central or wide areas, he has established himself as a direct, high-intensity forward, and his form for Lille last season played a key role in helping the French club secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

Yes i think many feel exciting times ahead.There will be plenty times though when things go awry.This is when the fans need patience and understanding.I hope we can tighten our defence up,especially at home. Theres a refreshing air around the club so lets make the most of it.It would be good to go into the international break unbeaten.

Newcastle United striker Sean Neave has joined Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the 2026/27 season.
Sean, who has represented England at Under-19 level, joined Newcastle's Academy as a 13-year-old and was part of the Magpies' 2025 Carabao Cup winning squad.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the club in February 2026, featuring in a 6–1 UEFA Champions League win over Qarabağ FK. On the final day of the 2025/26 campaign, he made his Premier League debut, coming off the bench against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
He now joins César Peixoto’s side who currently sit third in the Championship following a strong start to the season.

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Guinea midfielder Ousmane Diabaté from Turkish Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği Ankara S.K.
The 18-year-old has returned to Gençlerbirliği on loan for the 2026/27 season.
Ousmane initially made the switch to Turkey in December 2025 after progressing through Académie SOAR in Guinea and made seven senior appearances across the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup.
He has caught the eye of multiple clubs across Europe, and the midfielder continued his rise last season with a senior international debut for Guinea, featuring in a friendly against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in June.
On his signing, Ousmane said: “From the moment Newcastle showed interest, I knew it was the kind of ambitious club I wanted to be part of. The project here is exciting, and the supporters have an incredible reputation. Feeling that energy behind me is something I’m really looking forward to.
“I always tried to approach every match with total commitment, working hard, giving everything, and
pushing myself to improve.
“My aim is to grow as a player and show people what I can bring to the team. I want to help Newcastle compete at the highest level and achieving things that make the club and supporters proud.”

The 18-year-old has returned to Gençlerbirliği on loan for the 2026/27 season.
Ousmane initially made the switch to Turkey in December 2025 after progressing through Académie SOAR in Guinea and made seven senior appearances across the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup.
He has caught the eye of multiple clubs across Europe, and the midfielder continued his rise last season with a senior international debut for Guinea, featuring in a friendly against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in June.
On his signing, Ousmane said: “From the moment Newcastle showed interest, I knew it was the kind of ambitious club I wanted to be part of. The project here is exciting, and the supporters have an incredible reputation. Feeling that energy behind me is something I’m really looking forward to.

Half Time 1-2,and deserved. We dont have anyone playing at the top of their game and wehave too many playing poorly including both sentre halves, Miley needs to buck up as does Willock, Elanaga and Dedic when both high in the opposition half we have no one covering that right side for counter attacks.

We should have had a free kick before their 1st goal and never recovered from it; if the free kick was given they wouldn't have scored

Most of Thiaw's passes were nearly as concerning as the "performance" of the referee.
I wasn't convinced it was a foul in the build up to their first goal but 15 mins or so later in the same part of the pitch a similar incident and this time the ref gives a foul.

Yep, Thiaw and Botman dont have a brain between them. I'm not really overly concerned about the referee mind you. We only made 5 tackles in the whole game, another concern.

Probably the most positive thing to come out of today was as bad as they played; they remain undefeated; Bournemouths high press worked very well for them but I can't for the life of me understand why we insisted on trying to play it out from the back so much; we played into their hands by doing this. Fair play to them though; 2 nil down and they clawed there way back
