assume argentina get to the quarters, whats messis price for a goal going to be in each game?

v iceland 1/2
v croatia 6/5
v nigeria 4/6 (assuming he plays and they arent through already and they need a goal/point)

if they are top of their group theyll play the runners up in the french group, so peru, aus or denmark.  if its denmark he'll not be far off even money again

quarters theyll likely face spain and he'll be 2/1 for a goal.

got to assume he'll need to score 2/3 v iceland AND nigeria to collect the golden boot.

its such a **** market though, he could get a hat trick in any game, which he probably needs and the price will be higher than 12s in every match

Fwiw Peru lost 2-0 away in Bolivia and Chile drew 0-0 at home to Bolivia.  Chile made an official complaint about the eligibilty of one of the Bolivian players which was upheld and both Peru and Chile were awarded 3-0 wins.  It in effect cost Chile a place in the WC final at the expense of Peru, as Chile and Peru finished level on points.

mentioned Cavani in a similar thread a few weeks ago, was 33/1 at the time, scored twice as many goals as Suarez in qualifying and only played 2 more games, scored 35 goals for PSG this season, Suarez 26.

Who was the guy who told us to back james rodriguez ?, i want his input.

he actually put up James for the Golden Ball not the Boot, but still at 100/1 could have laid off for plenty

i couldnt trust cavani on his own but with suarez along side he should have loads of chances tee'd up for him

... my mole in Liverpool tells me Mo Salah is worth a speculative punt. ??  Cool

He was matched at 100 for a pound.

that could well be classed as speculative.  Grin

to be fair you obviously want a striker in a team that are going to keep qualifying and egypt might struggle there. !

Salah could score 6 in 3 matches and set a target. Personally, I would take a chance at 100 but not 28. Good luck though!

pretty sure he also mentioned may be worth backing golden boot at 150/1 as well.

I think there is a good chance Rodrigo starts up front for Spain rather than Costa. Rather be on him at 100/1 than Costa.

Said in other thread Iago Aspas no surprise they left that mug Morata out.....2 more at the weekend back from injury he as sharp as button the last 2 seasons Costa is just an overrated clogger. Still not in this market but 80/1 elsewhere.

Anyone that actually watches Spain would not be backing Costa, he is not the focal point and Spain do not play a style that suits him.

Clacher mocking the op for backing someone at 38's because he only scored 13 goals this season in the league then tipping up a striker who scored 3 goals this season in the league at the same price is the kind of stuff that makes the betfair forum priceless. Laugh

what price would you make a match bet for total tournament goals?

mbappe v costa

i think its because ive actually watched spain that i think costa will score a few.

a few on here still think they will have alonso, iniesta, xavi and biscuits tapping it around the middle.  isco, asensio, niguez and koke are not those types of players, spain have changed.  they are still very good though.

I'm not going to price it up. I'm just commenting on your absurd reasoning.

They are still a supreme passing team that will start with Iniesta / Busquets / Silva / Alcantara and possibly Rodrigo over Costa - though I would expect the latter.

They are in a group with three tight arsed defences, Portgual, Iran who conceded 3 goals in 8 matches and Morocco who conceded the grand sum on 0 in 6.

It took a 91st minute goals for Argentina to score past Iran in the 2014 World Cup after drawing 0-0 with Nigeria previously - Carlos Quieroz is still their manager.

Think there are better options. Think Cavani will rip up his group.

youd want to beon the pen taker between suarez and cavani, no idea who takes them but either would be a decent bet

Costa will play for spain and they are very good this time, i like the look of brazil to go deep but will jesus start? Messi will play deep for argentina so dont see him scoring many as usual
