In my day Rommell players were regular starters at 17 , 18 or 19 if good enough.

I think its nonsense that these players get a few minutes here and there now .

Thats why they fall through the grades .

Laughable that he said he didn't have 'anybody else', that's why he's getting stick. If he hadn't said that there wouldn't be an issue.
He has a system that he works on daily with players and if youth players aren't working with the squad day to day then he is not going to use them. That's understandable. I don't think he'd play any player not familiar with his system. It's vital to him that all players are familiar with it. He should have just said that.

United play the likes of Rashford and Lingard, yes, but they are not good enough to compete at the very top level. They are out of their depth at that level.

Players are still regular starters at 17, 18, 19 if good enough but in the modern day of moneyball, very few are. Been like that for years now.

Back in the day, clubs didn't have 11 world class players or the money to go out and buy them, so they played young players because the more experienced players could carry them and the standard wasn't as high. Different era. You can't blood inexperienced youngsters in your first team and hope to stay at the very top level. Those days are long gone.

The absolute state of the cringey mawkish sentimental pish from the OP here !
It's beginning to look like the Rags are steadily morphing into their 'hated' Mersey brethren this season with their morality tales, 'istry lessons and constant excuses.
These traits of cours are perfectly embodied by their eye gouging, misogynist bossman who's go to move anytime he doesn't get a result is to whinge, deflect and effectively say 'Its NEVER my fault' ... how familiar
