Laying teams as limited as Denmark at those sort of odds seems nothing to regret whether you layed off or not imo

They are basically a crap team with one top class player , and any experienced side should have a plan to nullify one guy .But Ireland decided to abandon midfield altogether in the 2nd leg and Eriksen had more space than he's likely to see in the rest of his career.

'doing a platini' could be the way forward :) unless you think that the margins are quite small anyway, so greening out at that stage in proceedings is questionable to start with. to each their own

you aren't far off there. 2.86 initially was around the price I laid them and i think the were 6.something before they scored. as to how much you could make, it depends on the stake innit.

price shift wise it's enough to make it worth doing, as an isolated incident, of course. but over the long term, there ought to be more cases where Denmark (or equivalently priced team) didn't go on to win so you'd be sorry for greening.

I reckon he laid them for about £500k and then backed them for half that and bought a new house with the profit. hence the big pat on the back and a new legend is born. we will forever refer to this as 'doing a platini' :)

Whether or not the OP greened/made a profit is irrelevant. His thread was started to highlight Denmark odds and backers as being poor. Denmark won comfortable and those who went back in for their 1st leg losses have been vindicated.

Who is the smarter of the two sides...the one that laid Denmark at what 2.8 and (maybe) greened out for a bit more, or those that backed at 2.8ish and saw it through?

Not too sure what the OP is trying to justify here. It's quite simple isn't it?
