3 goals against in a year long campaign and you think on the brink of qualification it will all go tits up for Southgate (who plays formulaic, insipid football) when he finds himself on the wrong end of a blood and guts 2-3 scoreline? You must have money to burn.
In all likelihood Slovakia are going to run up a cricket score on Sunday against Malta so you have to win both remaining games (and Slovenia know they have to come forward tonight). I sense that if either Southgate or Strachan is going to get his tactics wrong tonight it's more likely to be Strachan.

The last few times I've watched England, Hoddle has been co-commentator. I have a theory that Tw'oddle's incoherent ramblings are somehow feeding through to the players, leading to a clueless, headless chicken type of performance.

Most of these players play in teams that play high tempo pressing football. They play in a league that is all action and high intensity yet when the play for Engkand they think they can slow it down knock it about and out play like Italy. It's so fecking depressing.
dier and henderson both in the middle of the park is hopeless against a team camped on the edge of their own box

They'll need more than grit to beat even a half decent side, do remember this is the weakest group of all the European ones. Now I must admit I only watched this game when it reached injury time and I really do think that Harry Kane, is one of the best strikers to have played for England in an awful long time. He is pure class, as he scores goals from all over the pitch and penalty area and if he can keep scoring for England who create very little, he has to be darn good.
Erikson, don't play for England, but he still scores goals, he is a quality finisher.
And in a team England that is, that are totally clueless.
