Scotland missing Brown (no great loss) and Armstrong through injury whilst Slovakia are missing the suspended defender Milan Skriniar and injured forward Michal Duris.
A must win to give us any chance of qualifying from the group but gonna be a difficult night. Not expecting a lot of goals. Heart says Scotland but head suggests Slovakia 1.0 or Draw 1-1.

tbh I think Slovakia are the bet if your not letting your heart rule your head, they beat us 3-0 in the corresponding fixture and played England off the pitch last time out which makes the 21/10 seem appealing.

Hopefully Strachan sticks to finally realising pace and energy matter and be brave. Snodgrass must be nowhere near the team. Luckily Matt Ritchie is injured. This team may do ok:

But he could just sit in front of the CBs and man mark Hamsik. I think he is more likely to play though: ------------Gordon----------- Tierney--Berra--Mulgrew--Robertson -----Fletcher------Bannan -----------McArthur----------- Forrest-----------------Phillips ----------Griffiths I'm sure he'll play Forrest sadly. His pace gets us up the pitch but his decision making and final ball are terrible. Hopefully he won't revert to the 3-4-3 that turned into a 5-4-1 against England as that didn't work. Bar the free kicks we were shiite and negative. |

Scotland have scored late goals in comp at home.......This would be a dangerous game plan tonight. Only "hope" for a win for Scotland is to really go all out 1st half for lead in match.
This has to be the plan tonight against opponents capable of scoring if you allow them too much possession 1st half. If Scotland do press hard for an early goal, then they have a fair chance to do so. If they muck about with saving energy for late goal, then their opponents are good enough to hit us on break and score. An early goal for Scotland can give us best chance to win match........delay in lodging an assault on their goal is likely to us not winning IMO. My guess on final score is 2-1 ( 1-0 HT)..........provided early goal comes.If they don't attack from outset, then a DRAW is likely. GL with bets. |
