accept Swansea as one of them  but the Burnley equaliser was hurtful, just those 2 extra points and Spurs would be right in the mix. Citeh and Utd won't fancy Spurs this year and lets face it Chelsea are training on after all the air of despondency enveloping the club and Liverpool, well they'll take points off the other contenders ( Citeh result was heavily influenced by the red ). It looks highly competitive this year.

The Toon are very well organised and they have some decent talent. Merino and Lascelles are super players.

They really lack talent in the final 3rd though.

Jeez, there must be 6,000 away Newcastle fans at the game, which is geographically one their furthest away trips, incredible

Anyhow you never did say how you came to that made up number

From the camera shots it looks like they had the whole end of the ground which is very rare these days for a PL game, you only see that in the FA cup.
Made up / guesstimation call it what you will.

stickyvicky - The stadium is brilliant but it is small in PL terms, so one narrow end will not take huge numbers - 3k ish.

This will help - http://footballtripper.com/amex-stadium-brighton-hove-albion/#Away_Fans

Cheers BB, but this from the site says

'Fans who visit The Amex to watch their team away from home are tucked in the corner, with the standard allocation of around 3,300 fans, distributed amongst the south-east section of the ground between the east and south lower-tiers of seating.'

Newcastle had the whole width of the pitch today from what I could see, not just tucked in the corner. Which would make it more than 3.300 fans today.

Sections, S1A to S1F on the seating map.

Does this help?
✅ Another 700-mile round-trip
✅ Another Sunday on Sky
✅ Another sold out away end

Safe journey to our magnificent 3,000 away fans! #NUFC
