This Utd team has a reserve defence, a midfield with zero legs and zero forward passing. And zero width. There's a RB at LB who doesn't attack and a youth product CB at RB, so there won't be any width.

Still it's such a makeshift Utd team. You've got 2 CB's neither of whom have played a minute for about 7 weeks. Not sure how many goals this team has scored this season but it can't be many, and no way will it be above 20.

Most these players won't be playing on Thursday tbf, and are likely playing to show their worth.

Martial has started well.

Is it? He doesn't make this many changes if 4th was the priority.

There's no way he'd have Pogba and Rashford on the bench if that was the case.

I think he occasionally drops Pogba, inferring or claiming he "has an injury" or "is being rested". When, in reality he is just being quietly dropped because of his woeful form.

Obviously Mourinho would like to get 4th but it's clearly not priority. The teams selection above all else tells you that.

A draw is no use to either team, although you wouldn't think it.

Not even close to being true. Anyone that doubts Pogba's worth should realise how much he was missed in the games he missed recently. It shows just how big a part of the team he is when he wasn't in it recently.

Pogba also has literally played 90 minutes of every game when fit before today. Only times he got subbed was due to injury. He's likely not playing because it's not a very good idea to play a guy on a dodgy hamstring for 90 minutes twice in 3 days.

Without Pogba the midfield is slow, no-one can carry the ball, and Pogba is the most creative player in terms of forward passing.

"dodgy hamstring" is nonsense. If you've played, you will know that the hamstring is either gone or it isn't. If the hamstring is torn you are out for at least a month. There is no question of playing a player with a damaged hamstring one day, and leaving him out the next. Any payer or ex-player will tell you that.

Des, whatever you think about the hamstring Pogba is being rested for Thursday. That is totally obvious.

If he is considered for thursday, then there is nothing wrong with his hamstring.

Fair do's, I'll take your opinions on board, and give them due respect and consideration. I think Pogba has been woeful this season, and nothing I have seen would convince me otherwise. Cool

But it's clear from the Utd line up they aren't risking any of their key players, mainly because they've mostly played loads of games recently, and fatigue = more injury prone.

Pogba's criticism has gone way OTT now. He hasn't lived up to an £89m price tag, he's still one of the key players and there is nobody to replace him and what he brings to the team.

He hasn't delivered in pretty much any of the big games but had dominated a lot of smaller teams this season, on Thursday being the last example where he bossed the midfield.

agreed. Perhaps only giving points to teams to have scored to do so. 1-1 2-2 3-3 and so forth, maybe change it so that if it does end 0-0 you get null points
