Thought I would do an early preview of tonight's game.

Middlesbrough 6.80, Draw 4.50, Arsenal 1.58

Boro have 2 games in hand, if they win their next 2 matches, they can overtake Hull City. Don't think a point does them that good but think they would accept 4 points from their next 2 games. (6 would obviously be better) I think they will have to fancy their chances away against Bournemouth more than this fixture.

Arsenal too have a couple of games in hand and the expectation is on them to win here.

Both teams playing to win for different reasons , both wanting to get maximum 3 points.

Is it just a recent thing that the game is all about money?

The first transfer over £100,000 was United's signing of Denis Law for £110,000 from Torino in 1962

Nottingham Forest first spent over £1m on Trever Francis in 1979 and Peter Shilton was the best paid player in Britain...they won the European Cup

In 1988 Paul Gascougne's transfer from Newcastle to Tottengham was the first one over £2m

Chris Sutton became first to earn over £10k when Blackburn signed him from Norwich in 1994...they would the PL

Transfer record broken again in 1996 when Newcastle signed Shearer for £15m

Roy Keane was the first player to earn over £50k a week in 2000

Sol Campbell was the first to earn over £100k a week when he joined Arsenal

First £30m transfer fee was Rio Ferdinands move to Man United in 2002

Carlos Tevez was the first to earn over £1m a month when he joined Man City in 2010
