Thought I would do an early preview of tonight's game.

Middlesbrough 6.80, Draw 4.50, Arsenal 1.58

Boro have 2 games in hand, if they win their next 2 matches, they can overtake Hull City. Don't think a point does them that good but think they would accept 4 points from their next 2 games. (6 would obviously be better) I think they will have to fancy their chances away against Bournemouth more than this fixture.

Arsenal too have a couple of games in hand and the expectation is on them to win here.

Both teams playing to win for different reasons , both wanting to get maximum 3 points.

Can't see anything other than an Arsenal win here, 'bro in freefall, and Arsenal really need to make a statement or it's curtains. Overs and btts.

But it's Monday night footy, and usually a graveyard for goals!

As a suffering Boro fan this season - I would say the value is goals under at 6/5 . Under Agnew's 4 games  we have been less defensive scoring 3 and letting in 7. Arsenal are an overs team, but have defensive players returning, Boro should have Friend and Fabio back who are reasonable full backs. Part of Boro's problems are that the midfield rarely get in goal scoring positions and this is not likely to chnage. The game at Arsenal was 0-0. If we say unders is normally 9/10 odds in any game this one is an average chance of unders to me, so 6/5 offers some value for unders.

On the result it is harder to predict, but the 4/7 match odds for Arsenal looks a bit too low.  MU were 8/11 at Boro a few weeks ago.

Interesting little stat in the Premier League, since the introduction of the EPL in 1992/93, home teams receive the favourable end of the penalty decisions 62.73% v 37.27% for away teams

I always had this assumption that referees were neutral no matter what the ground or atmosphere.

From 1992/93 to now, the conversion rate for penalties is also damn good for the EPL.
Conversion Rate
Goal=84.20%
No Score or Saved= 15.80%

That's an impressive statistic.

1.55 is too short for Arsenal so they are they lay giving how poorly they try to win nowadays.  Borough of course are no great shakes but hey Arsenal can probably give any team a confidence boost at the moment.

If you are getting your data from a site like myfootballfacts then i is quite obvious that save/miss data was patchy at best before 2002/3 (e.g. 93/94, 80 pens scored, 1 miss, 1 save)

If you can rely on their data since 2002 (and I am not saying that is true), then at best you are looking at 79%, and if you look at the last five complete seasons (2010/11-2015/16), then it is 77%.

2.52 unders for goals seems huge - yes, they may both want to win, but 1-0 would be snatched by both here.

Neither side great currently in terms of form, could be a cagey game in any case, as losing a goal would be lethal to the home side in particular.

6/4 under 2.5 massive bet price IMO.

I'm with Analyst u2.5 and also the draw, hoping to trade out. I'm no expert at all but Arsenal cost me against Palace. I was amazed how little heart they showed.

Also gone for Ozil To Score at 4/1 and to score a brace 27/1 . Feel like he is the lucky one tonight. Think it will be a cagey game until that first goal arrives, I also think there will be a penalty in the game, thats paying 3.80

I hate to be a harbinger of doom and i usually go with your considered opinions,  i.e. ECE i think you really a form player at the mo for example. But I think arse are completely overdue some kind of passionate performance and boro will try and be a bit cavalier perhaps. So I'm going to go overs for small stakes and also for the pen, which is a  proper shrewdie bet ..gl
