Vile (extremely unpleasant) I don't think so.

Rancid (of foods containing fat or oil) smelling or tasting unpleasant as a result of being old and stale. I dont so.

Good job it wasn't one of his own players he pushed, they would have been lying on the ground spark out.

Keith Hackett is calling for a 6 game FIFA style ban - Wenger would have to sit with an FA official from the moment he is in the stadium and can have no contact with the players or coaching staff.

This is the second time Wenger has lost his temper and assaulted someone. Maybe he needs to go to anger management classes and until he has completed them he has to be in the stands not pitchside for everyone's safety.
Report NOW WE KNOW January 23, 2017 9:40 AM GMT
What was he complaining about? The sending off was totally justified and so was the Burnley penalty. The Arsenal penalty was clearly offside and debatable. Don't even mention the debacle at Turf Moor.

Sean Dyche comes out of this as a total sportsman. Wenger deserves a substancial ban and some anger management assistance. UTC.
Report Johnny_Mustang January 23, 2017 9:46 AM GMT
^ Seething Burnley supporter. Got what they deserved from both fixtures: nothing.
Report OnePercenter January 23, 2017 9:49 AM GMT
Johnny you need to take your Arsenal spec off and think about what Wenger keeps doing.

The game at grass roots level is in crisis because so many officials have been assaulted. A strike last weekend was only just averted. Wenger cleary needs a substantial stadium or FIFA ban but he also needs anger management help. He is a ticking time-bomb.
Report Johnny_Mustang January 23, 2017 9:51 AM GMT
Completely disagree Onepercenter. It was a gentle shove, nothing more. If that had happened on the pitch would a player have been carded? No, of course not.
Report OnePercenter January 23, 2017 11:19 AM GMT
At the grass roots officials are being violently assaulted every season. Unless the FA have a strict hands off policy the game at that level will collapse.

It is not as if this is Wenger's first offence. He has shoved Jose during a match and he is forever out of his technical area.

The FA need to make an example out of him.
Report asparagus January 23, 2017 2:23 PM GMT
Johnny Mustang, you really have no idea if you think a player wouldn't be carded for shoving an official. Automatic red card.
Unfortunately the FA will not make the example of him they would with most managers because they've always had their eye on him for the England job and do their best not to upset him.
Report lurka January 23, 2017 5:39 PM GMT
Wenger would be a disaster with England. England need a manager who can organise them defensively, not a manager who plays open, attacking football with vastly inferior attacking players. But I'm not surprised that the FA might be after him, they don't have a clue or else they want a yes man who is happy to take a cheque and not ask questions.

The media are the same with Wenger. How he has avoided constant criticism over the last 10 years is beyond me. The praise him more than criticise him.
Report jon b January 23, 2017 6:07 PM GMT
handbags  guys , get real , he will get a ban and so he should but it was next to nothing and the 4th official could also have left him when he was in the tunnel and gone back and continued doing his job , refs get abuse from managers every week , part of the game which has all gone **** , now a decent clever ref could of handled it better and dealt with it after the game , there was only 3/4 mins from the point to go so would of been easy to wait  and just put a report in which would still lead to the ban /fine .   Assault omg , keep it real .
Report JC1326 January 23, 2017 6:42 PM GMT
So Wenger was agitated at the thought he might not win, so what? He barely touched the guy too. Guardiola has been here five minutes and is already cracking up, Mourinho was on the verge of a break down earlier in the season, Klopp crying about Swansea's tactics, managers don't like losing, absolutely nothing to see here.

As punters, we should be lauding someone like Wenger, at least he plays attacking football, and Arsenal matches are seldom dull. Save the vitriol for the likes of Boreinho, Pulis, Koeman et al
Report Storm Alert January 23, 2017 8:14 PM GMT
Very impressed with Wengers honesty over his handbag event with fourth official.  Manned up and held his hands up and said sorry "I was out of order".  A breath of fresh air compared to the rancid Mourinho who stinks out ManURE.  At least he doesn't pick his nose on camera like the vile Guardiola.

Report OnePercenter January 27, 2017 10:26 PM GMT
Just a 4 game touchline ban. He can sbe in the dressing room before, during and after the game and can communicate with the bench by phone.

And this is the 3rd time he has got physical when angered. The man needs help.
Report Storm Alert January 28, 2017 10:47 AM GMT
Teach that fourth official for chasing him down the tunnel getting in his face like that and invading his personnel space.  Anybody behaving like that can expect to decked not pushed.

Pushing that Mourinho arrogant prick, well done Wenger.

And the other time was Pardew when he invaded Wengers technical area wasn't it?
Report anxious January 28, 2017 11:23 AM GMT
Not before time that Wenger was banned , they need to keep an eye on Klopp  he starts fights on the touchline too, that's if he can stand up in the wind Laugh
Report the bloob January 28, 2017 10:30 PM GMT
it's a bit daft that Wenger can communicate with the bench, it seems like a pretty pointless punishment to me. I would rather see a full stadium ban with Wenger's location monitored during the game to ensure no communication and no cheating (like Mourinho did several years ago when banned, but smuggled into the dressing room at half-time in a laundry basket, allegedly).

oh, and I'm an Arsenal fan, so no negative bias here
