Biggest club in the country and biggest laughing stock.
Most expensive team in the world and biggest wage bill to boot; yet the fans are creaming their p1ss stained undies because they're 6th in the league!  Biggest club in the country has won the elite European trophy just 3 times. Hardly making them 'the undisputed giants' of the English game. Biggest club in the country has for decades relied on a strong presence within the FA, Fergie being 'pals' with the officials and first class honours in diving and the dark arts.eg. Howard Webb officiating: Man Utd W 71% of games. Liverpool W 27%. Plastic, Surrey boy posters like IQ1% revel in being 'part of' a footballing giant. Such association is defined by psychologists as being a substitute for socially inept losers. Glad I support my local side tbh. |

So many intangibles involved in 'the biggest club' argument.
If we agree that sport is all about winning then you have to look to which clubs are doing that at the moment. I would say that today, at this moment to the two best teams around would be city and chelsea. Hand on heart over the last few years these two have been the best in england. Wether you equate that to the 'biggest' club is up to you. You can argue about fans. But city i would say are just as big, if not bigger, than utd in manchester. And anyway if you want to go to thailand then you could argue liv have more fans than city. But no way on earth are they a better team at the moment than city. City have a much better squad, better players, they have a much bigger wage bill, they win more.. Bigger turnover i believe. Man U have dropped the ball since Fergus left. They may indeed get back to the top in the near future. But at the mo its City v chels for me |

 Liverpool never taken it well. If its not the ref, the FA, the fixtures, the fans or Fergie its the dark arts? Come on charwell, you better than that mate. We never thought any of that when Shankly or Paisley were in charge. We thought you were a bl00dy good team with bl00dy good managers and that was it. Your fans then wonder why they are accused of blaming everything and everybody for everything. This is nothing to do with the biggest club rubbish We could produce stats of refs who allegedly favoured Liverpool but its nonsense in the grand scheme of things |

Rommel Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley were brlliant managers but do you really believe they were paragons of virtue, both were ruthless and stood no nonsense that's why Liverpool ruled under them

Fully agree rommel regarding the pressurising of refs by Fergie. Pointing to his watch, the so called mind games with opponents and officials all added to it but that is all part and parcel of the game isn't it?
The likes of Gerrard, Terry and Robson used to get away with murder on the pitch because they were England captains. Don't forget that Fergie was hauled up before the FA and got touchline bans half a dozen times or more plus loads of fines so its not as if he could do what he wanted.....all the time  |

Actually I will be at work but you are right I will be hundreds of miles away as moved out of Manchester many years ago. I don't think Liverpool are scum. I just think they have a lot of fans who fit that description. You know the type, the ones who try to get into matches without tickets.
