I think the world has gone beserk when a team is this short to win the competitive league that the Championship always is. Rafa or no Rafa.

His signings are hardly inspirational.

Mat Sels in goal for 4.5m? Did they really need another keeper?
Ciaran Clark? - Is Rafa having a laugh here? He couldn't get into one of Aston Villas worst all time sides.
Grant Hanley? - A Scottish international mmmmmm he's overweight and slow - how much did they pay 6M?

Clark and Hanley make Titus Bramble look like Bobby Moore!

Dwight Gayle? - might just be ok at this level but just 15 goals in 63 league games for Palace hardly justifies a 10m price tag - not inspirational by any means.

Isaac Hayden? - just two league cup appearances for the Gooners says it all, 21 years of age - out on loan to Hull City and he only got 18 league games there - inspirational?

Jesus Gamez - solid enough and at 31 will bring some experience to the back line, 1 goal in 290 career league games, dont expect too much from him going forward!

Matt Ritchie, probably their best buy, 15 Championship goals for Bournemouth but only 4 in the Premiership, back where he belongs!!

Diame - a decent signing, gets goals from midfield but not a great team player

I do realise that not all of these players will be in the starting 11 every week but over 46 matches some of them will be needed as cover and they just dont all seem good enough.

Assuming that they lose Tiote and Sissoko on top of Wijnaldum, Coloccini, Taylor, etc etc, then they look a much weaker team than the one that waltzed this division last time around. Theres no Andy Carroll this time, or Jose Enrique or Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton, Alan Smith, Jonas Gutierrez or Nicky Butt

I think a lay at 2.78 is the call. Worth it at that price.

Yes, out to 3.2 after just one match. They never looked like scoring. Gayle looked worse than I originally thought.

A Palace season ticket holder told me Gayle is great goal scorer but just crap at everything else apart from enjoying himself Wink

Good start zzorro

Things could get nasty at Newcastle if they don't win quickly with 35k season ticket holders on their backs

4.5 now after 2 from 2!

Yes this could get embarrassing. There will be calls to bring back Steve McLaren well ok....... Kevin Keegan possibly.

I'm sure they will give Rafa time. After the defeat on Saturday they drifted out as high as 6, felt it prudent to trade out at all rates with an average of 5.4 giving me a very nice return. Happy with that.

FFS.
Someone has to fill it, I suppose.

Thought the fixture planner would have spread those two Wolves games out a bit.
