Don't understand why people are faffing around when they can just back unders

France created lots of chances against Switzerland hit the woodwork couple of times and were very unlucky. Now I know about Irish Luck but I think France will demolish them.
|
|
By:
na they wont demolish them , most france will by is 1 or 2 goals if at all. Several people said even the Italian B team would hammer Ireland and that failed to materialize .
|
|
By:
that is because Italians were already qualified and went out with their second team not giving a sh*t about the result
|
|
By:
Back 0-0 HT every match and you win.
|
|
By:
yeah everyone knew before hand that italy were putting out a weakened team but still thought italy would hammer ire, have a look at the thread from wed night.
|
|
By:
of course they gave a sh*t, do you think they are happy to sit on the bench?
and Conte doing his nut on the line, suppose he didnt care either eh |
|
By:
I do not think they will go full throttle after the Irish.
At 2-0 they will shut up shop . They'd need to preserve themselves for the QF game. 1-0 HT 2-0 FT |

genuinely this Irish team is better than people realise. Against Belgium we had Whelan and O'shea who never look to play football in fact whelan demoralises the younger guys like mccarthy in the midfield to the extent that they are afraid to play. By some stroke of luck O'Neil dropped whelan and o'shea and for the game against Italy we had 334 passes due to the fact we had ball players like Brady Hendricks Mccarthy Mcclean and the best of all Houlihan. If O'neill and its a big if plays the same team I would think we have a very good chance as all the pressure is on France. But we need to hold onto the ball a concept which O'shea and whelan do not get. Let the young guys loose with Houlihan pulling the strings and we could go far playing proper football.

By:
yes the team o neil picks will be very interesting

|
By:
if you see whelan and oshea lining out then agree with everyone here load up on France

If the Irish can get a big enough triple decker bus, they'll have a chance of getting the draw they crave. At that point, I'd make them slight favs in the lottery of ET and pens because the pressure on the French would be enormous and we all know how brittle they are under pressure.
Start of the game is key for me. If the French start well, and take a lead, it could be game over very quickly. But very few games have gone like that. I don't see any value on the match betting, so won't be having a bet. But I will be backing in the outright market depending on how this match is going (could be a very good trade). I'll post details if/when I've done it ![]() |

By:
If Ireland park the bus they deserve to lose. Hope O'Neill goes against his natural instincts and lets them have a go. They were magnificent the other night. Not one Irish fan would complain if we get KO'd trying to win.

We had a go at them in Paris in 2009, even under Trappatoni!

I'll take BTTS. Think Ireland will create plenty of chances
|
|
By:
Let's not forget 20 seconds before Belgium scored Ireland had a certain penalty knocked back by a coward ref decision. That must have been demoralising. Still think France will have too much for them. Ireland will need to get right up their noses to unsettle them.

The 3 days extra rest France have had ( more for some of them) will tell in the second half.Especially the way Ireland will have to play

My analysis is that it's great that it's being shown on ITV,
That means the pundits can reference and play back the inevitable clip from the 2009 play off, without having to skirt round the fact that Thierry's sat right next to them ![]() |

my thoughts are why do people keep posting those stupid photo's of someone smoking a cigar?

Aye Ireland have the spirit right enuff and could cause some problems for France. BUT they will be missing their 12th man as they will have only between 4k-5k supporters in the crowd. The Pressure game is all very well but with the temperature in the mid 20's this could be a problem. Having said all that with the gruesome twosome in charge they are well capable of causing an upset with a combination of bloodymindedness and a decent Game-plan. GOYBIG

That way they could have ended up playing France at some stage and we could have enjoyed watching Slaven Bilic giving his views on his 1998 act of shame! |
