the iceland keeper is dodgy, england need to take advantage of that

Whereas our goalkeeper would never let in anything like soft free kick.

Stats in today's paper saying Dier has had the most efforts on goal. Fortunately, it didn't say how many required a save. Why are we even playing a holding midfielder with limited ability?

Limited ability? Obviously missed the free-kick against Russia, and the chipped through pass to Sturridge in the last game. If a Spain or Germany defensive midfielder did that the majority on here would have their c0cks out. Diers been very good, especially for a guy that's been an international all of five minutes. Clueless comment

first player on the team sheet

When: 23 Jun 16 23:01
In a decent side he wouldn't be on the team sheet. Dier's an average player who some people think has been a standout in a very average side. In reality there haven't been any standouts. I am guessing he will still be the same average player in ten year's time. Probably with about 100 caps during which time England will have won nothing because we are lauding players like him.

Of course I didn't miss the free-kick. Is that the same free-kick a half-decent goalkeeper would have saved? He makes one decent pass (contrary to what you are saying the commentary team did get ridiculously over excited about it) in three games and we are raving about him? So far he has had a relatively easy ride defensively so let's see what happens when he is put under a little more pressure.

no matter what the opposition england always make it hard work, so can't back them at the prices, going for under 1.5 and 2.5 goals.

good luck all.

Big improvement then on the 'Timeform Squiggle' that characterises most of our tournament performances

Overs being JC1326 to post over 2.5 aggressive, frustrated child like posts

I think the 1.01 is value as every post he puts on here seems to be of an aggressive nature or calling someone clueless/mug etc

I've been impressed with England so far - held onto the ball in the middle of the park, created chances. Normally I lay the sh1t of England in tournaments - hard for them to win because against decent teams they never have the ball (Gerrard and Lampard era) - pretty hard to win from there.

Only proviso is that Slovakia and Wales have looked pretty ordinary in the last 16 - was the group very weak??

Wait and see but 1.47 is very tempting indeed.

Lumped on just - get a few ticks I presume before kick-off.

(Always remember match vs Italy in World Cup, England backed into favouritism on here just before kick-off, then ten minutes in the retreat was unseemly to say the least when Pirlo was strolling around!)
