You go to the races trilby.
We used to go up twice a year.
Been a long time though, used to be a night meet then afternoon one the following day.
We always stayed at the hotel in Perth next to the station, The Queens I think it was called.
Report trilby22 April 4, 2016 5:26 PM BST
AOH, imo tomorrow.  4-0, to be precise Wink

No, I've been to Scone a few times but not for the races.  I don't trust myself with £20 notes in my hands.

I've a pal who goes regularly & he always invites me along.  When are you next through?  I'll make an exception!
Report trilby22 April 4, 2016 5:28 PM BST
In the station or across the road?  I know the latter and I know peeps who have stayed @ the former.

Not been for a while. Loved a day at the racing.
Cheltenham for the festival is unbelievable but the traffic to and fro the course is a nightmare.

The "Blue pound" must be the most cringe worthy phrase in Scottish football.
Report trilby22 April 7, 2016 4:46 PM BST
Why?

It has kept Scottish fitba alive for at least 4 years.
Report trilby22 April 7, 2016 4:49 PM BST
All your so called "wee diddies" getting £100,000+ pumped into their towns every other Saturday.

What's wrong with that?
Report Shrewd_dude April 7, 2016 4:59 PM BST
Because your club was liquidated and the blue pound did nothing to save it. It hasn't kept alive any team and it couldn't even keep your own team alive so it's cringe worthy to hear people bang on about it as if it actually has any relevance. In previous generations maybe it had some value but if it did those generations would no doubt be cringing about the fact that the current fans such as you have a "blue pound" that has the value of not being able to even prevent your own club from liquidation.
Report trilby22 April 7, 2016 5:47 PM BST

Take yer blinkers off. Every small club wants to draw Rangers, or Septic for that matter, in the cup.

You're like Tribly. Rather than answering a question you reply with further questions or change the subject.

They may want to play you for a little extra cash but the idea that the "blue pound" has been saving these clubs from extinction and supporting Scottish Football when this same "blue pound" couldn't even secure the future of your team from liquidation is laughable.

I feel embarrassed for you coming out with the blue pound nonsense. I can just imagine you guys sitting in the pub, "aye the blue pound coudnae save tha club fae liquidation but it didnae alf help Albion Rovers in redecorating the Social Club and pitting in a  new pie oven."

now we know what to expect in the SPL.

celtic struggling at 0-0 against motherwell and the ref gives them a penalty.

then after they take the lead just before half time, motherwell get a second half goal chalked off wrongly for offside before skippy finally gets an equaliser.

then a celtic player very lucky to escape a red card before they scrape a winner.

that shows what rangers will be up against in the SPL - celtic getting penalties when they need them - celtic players not getting red cards when they deserve them - and opposition sides needing to score twice to get awarded one goal.

so much the same as it was the last time we were in the SPL.
