Hello all, LOOONG time no post. I was offered a £5 free bet on a betting site, which I placed on a horse at 40/1. The horse won. I then placed another bet on QPR at 4/1 or whatever it was the other day vs Reading, and won again. I had therefore carried out the required £50 wagering, and attempted to withdraw my money. Today I received an email saying the maximum withdrawal of the bonus is £25, and my withdrawal has been amended to £25. The remaining winnings have disappeared. I have therefore had over £350 winnings stolen.
Can a term that restricts withdrawals to £25 be considered fair legally if they are allowing bets of 40/1 with the free £5? Why allow a punter to bet £5 on a bet which he cannot win on?

Which site was it? If it's in the terms that the maximum takeout is £x then I'm not sure there's much that you can do.

Sounds sh1t mate. It's unfortunate a trusted friend didn't warn you it was a joke site before you put the bet on.
Free Bet tokens can be obtained upon the use of a promo code on deposit and placement of a specific bet and/or upon registration as well as upon manual credit according to the relevant promotional conditions.
Any winnings earned from Free Bets are received as withdrawable funds. The Free Bet is not stake-returned.
The Free Bet can be used only on specified bet types, sports, leagues or events as stated in the respective Promotion T&C.
The Free Bet amount cannot be used in portions. For example - If a £10 Free Bet token is used for a £5 bet, the unused £5 will be forfeited and not available towards future bets.
The Free Bet Amount is not returned to user’s account if the placed bet is cancelled.
The Free Bet will always be used prior to real money. If a customer selects a £10 Free Bet token and is placing a £20 bet, having a balance of £100 in real money, the total amount of the Free Bet will be used (£10) and £10 will be drawn from the balance.

They're Gambling Commission regulated, so complain to them.

They re a B rated company on SBR, wouldnt touch anyone B or below. Further in reading others complaints, this is not the firt time they have done what you have said in various different ways.
Was it a specific term of the bet in their T@C's? Even then a term within a consumer contract has to be deemed fair. Which of course is open to interpretation and argument. How do you think lawyers get fat?
Just because you have not had a problem with them does not mean they aren't using an Unfair Contract Term within their free bet offers.
Before withdrawing I asked how much more I needed to stake before being able to withdraw. The representative never said "you won't be able to withdraw more than £25"
