In shop midday, turned down £200 at 9/5 on the coupon for Liverpool HT/FT

Told I couldnt have £200, only a maximum £20 and it applied to all the shops in the area

Asked why they offer £200 on the coupon as an optional stake - was told its £20 for everyone max stake, take it or leave it

Who do I complain to?

Complain to who you want, none of the bookies will take a bet these days. their only interested in the gaming machines. They now start to monitor customers who regularly place bets as low as 30/40 quid. T0ssers the lot of them Angry

Dav_vin03 None of the major high street bookies will take a bet any more, if your not known to them ie monitored you may get a few bob on but the second you have the sheer cheek to win a bet you'll be monitored. Corals will be Red or Amber customer, Ladcrooks will pass your description around all the shops in your area, you'll probably get limited to £50 per bet. Hills will have a photo in a folder behind the jump of you and you'll ne a PTL customer (Permission to lay) they really are a joke the lot of them. They want a hundred blokes betting a pound eaxh rather than one fella betting a hundred, Dregs of the earth the lot of them. Like insurance companies, great at taking your money but don't want to pay anything out !

In that case why advertise a price that was unavailable to all but those who collect pennies in empty whisky jars..

Suely go 8/5 to all comers...

I imagine that price was on a pre-printed coupon.   The price collapsed since printing but they were honouring it for up to £20.   I would have thought you could have had the rest at the adjusted price.

Had a mate who's photo was in plain sight, he went ballistic. As in general it's only people using dodgy notes or scamers.  His crime was wanting a bet Sad

were you planning on arbing it da vi?

Why is every potential punter an arber....

Why are people employed by the alleged "bookmakers" to shout successful punters down..

And finally if people want to arb for pennies why not....

Surely every successful "bookmaking" operation has its "traders" that would welcome any incoming money because they are clever...Blush

because every thread like this starts off with a big arb! (and I think dav vin has said previously he arbs, but not 100% sure)

not I tried £200 at 9/4 when it was trading say at 3.4 on here.

we all know how it works, maleuk01. The betting industry want people who bet on accas, scorecasts, etc. and are not price sensitive, know fk all about sport and are addicted to fobts/slots etc. If you show even the slightest sign of knowing what you are doing you will be accused of being an arber, being on the make, putting bets on for someone, told its not a charity etc. The former must make up 90+% of all billy bunters, but they are still desperate to get rid of the latter.

Not sure if you two have ever been into a betting shop but all coupon prices are a guide only.

They are printed out by staff from behind the counter in my experience and so it would depend on when they printed out that batch to what the price would be.

The regular turkeys that bet on the coupon have no idea about what price they have got until they see their slip..

Just a thought..

A few things

1. I was not arbing, dont see the point in arbing on £200 quid with such a small discrepency in prices compared to the exchange

2. I simply fancied liverpool HT/FT

3. I was only allowed £20 regardless of the odds, the odds had not changed as my mate had £20 on an at 9/5 an hour or so later

4. Under the data protection act, am I allowed to request what information they have about me?

5. I have since found out other customers where also limited to £20 stakes
