After five years using betfair they suddenly have asked me to verify account.  Emailed requested info and told on live  chat may take two to three weeks ro verify complete farce. They quite happily took a deposit the other day

Did you ask them the simple question "why are you asking me to verify my account after I opened it 5 years ago" ?

Suspicious activity will no doubt be the answer.

No its linked to self excluded account apparently.  Which I have no knowledge of so why put me through this inconvenience

Probably to ensure that a self-excluded person isn't trying to circumvent the exclusion.  Understandable, really, but the 2-3 weeks to verify the account is a complete pisstake.

Yeah just gonna leave it let them have whats left in account and go elsewhere.  Seems like a licence to rob punters if they had decent amount in there account . Plus askin for screenshot of bank card passport letters xxxx that for a laugh!

You'll be asked for ID at most other books too, so I'd get used to it.  Perfectly standard, I'm afraid.

If you want me to put on a hefty bet for you mate just send a few grand via paypal, if it's a winner I'll send you the money straight back, you'll have to verify your details to me first which may take a few years but once I've finished with the high class prostitutes, around the world cruise and Vegas, it's all yours
Report TheChaser May 23, 2015 3:47 PM BST
Ill give it back in 6 months
