Why do these league one teams (Sheff Utd esp) have no trouble disposing of EPL sides but come unstuck against mediocre opp ?must be as frustrating as feck for the fans Because we're not very good. And that's why we're in Division 3. Yes we'll win a few matches along the way, and the Chelsea one was a well deserved freak result, but in the main league standings don't lie and we were well beaten last night. The frustrating thing isn't getting beaten by a team inferior to Chelsea or Sunderland, it's the manner in which we lost. In the first leg their centre backs dealt with almost every long ball easily, so last night our main tactic was to pump long balls up to Hanson and Stead. You'd think we'd have learned a little from the first leg that this isn't the way to hurt Reading. Anyways, onwards and upwards. Wonder if we'll have 24,000 there at home to Fleetwood on Saturday.
I have already mentioned on this forum quite a few times that "freak results" happen in fooball now and again
When spuds beat Chelsea and Arsenal at home i said they were freak results and got lambasted for it
Just look at where Chelsea are Arsenal are now since then
Chelsea are league cup winners mashing spuds and soon to be champions
Arsenal way above spuds now and in the semi-final as holders, aslo still in the champions league
