far too much being made of Bradford's poor pitch giving them an advantage in 1st match.
In fact, Bradford enjoy playing away from home, for that very reason. Ask Chelsea Wink

Report Magic__Daps March 17, 2015 2:42 PM GMT
It may have been slightly better to say the price was wrong and you were going to get out when it drifts to 'your' correct price. Saying you've won bundles pre match doesn't ring true to me. If you've layed them for a grand you've won about a ton greening out - but seeing as they are a carp championship side against a side that have had an excellent record against them previously (ridiculous stat) why would you back them back anyway?

Nearly as bad as the Don poli episode on the racing forum, ridiculous price and it's jumping was awful (surely hinders its chances even more) so you got out in running for a profit less than a point bigger.

No offence meant, but just admit you got it wrong.

Why do these league one teams (Sheff Utd esp) have no trouble disposing of EPL sides but come unstuck against mediocre opp  ?

must be as frustrating as feck for the fans
Report Platini March 17, 2015 3:21 PM GMT
Seriously chaps, those that know me (and I've been on here a lifetime) know I'm a trader first, layer second. I've learned the hard way you always green out or take a free lay when you get a chance. Sometimes you don't get a chance, that's the nature of the game. I still maintain the Reading price was wrong (and the market proved I got that right) but I got lucky with the scale of the market drift - 20 ticks is massive. A smidgen under £100 green is not to be sniffed at.

Don Poli was another trade, I got the result wrong but the trade was right, although I didn't profit from it (I could have claimed I did by the way, but I never did), it was just a free lay, something I do a lot. BTW I had a sh1t Cheltenham and lost about 200 quid, it's a meeting I often lose on but it doesn't deter me.

I don't hide any losses on here, I'm very open about some of the big losses I've taken down the years. If I lose a bet, I'm the first to admit it (and moan about it).

I don't mind a bit of banter and debate on here with most people, but there's a few that don't even have the b0ll0cks to post a selection before the event. Show us your tips or STFU.

Because we're not very good.  And that's why we're in Division 3.  Yes we'll win a few matches along the way, and the Chelsea one was a well deserved freak result, but in the main league standings don't lie and we were well beaten last night.

The frustrating thing isn't getting beaten by a team inferior to Chelsea or Sunderland, it's the manner in which we lost.  In the first leg their centre backs dealt with almost every long ball easily, so last night our main tactic was to pump long balls up to Hanson and Stead.  You'd think we'd have learned a little from the first leg that this isn't the way to hurt Reading.  Anyways, onwards and upwards.  Wonder if we'll have 24,000 there at home to Fleetwood on Saturday.

I have already mentioned on this forum quite a few times that "freak results" happen in fooball now and again

When spuds beat Chelsea and Arsenal at home i said they were freak results and got lambasted for it

Just look at where Chelsea are Arsenal are now since then

Chelsea are league cup winners mashing spuds and soon to be champions

Arsenal way above spuds now and in the semi-final as holders, aslo still in the champions league

Report maggot March 17, 2015 4:38 PM GMT
Fek me TSO.. Do you have to drag spurs into every single one of your pathetic posts.

What on earth has Tottenham got to do with Reading and Bradford ?

Spurs beating Arsenal is not, never has been, and never will be a freak result.

Get a grip, man.
Report Magic__Daps March 17, 2015 6:27 PM GMT
Platini - why not just say beforehand you aim to get out pre KO or in running at a certain price? No doubt if Don poli would have been well beat you would have been straight back on with no mention of getting out in running imo.

If a ton is your 'satchel bulging' then I don't see you laying them for 4 figures in the first place. I may well be wrong but I just don't get the point of the original post - or were you just trying to ramp a price out?
Report Geesyerdosh March 17, 2015 7:01 PM GMT
Of course he was ramping. All who trade have done it. As long as you are putting across a genuine case that you believe the price is wrong with facts to support it I don't see a problem. It's more than likely that Platini is out before kick-off/race time win or lose.

The problem I do see is Platini's reasoning for the lay is tenuous. But then again let's be honest it's dog eat dog on here. We can help each other to a point but our own p&l is all that matters in the end.
