I backed Costa 'to score' in the cup final today. It has been settled as a losing bet? Costa shows a goal scorer on LiveScore.com. The goal was a deflection - anyone have input?

yeh heres my input, the boy tried to cross the ball and it got deflected into the net, the fact that he tried to claim the goal is indeed embrassing and also the face that livescore could get that so wrong is utterly concerning

Just checked Livescore again (20:20hrs) and shows as Costa. Thanks for your replies.

Betfair don't settle their first goalscorer markets on what livescore says. I believe they go off the Press Association. BF's official rules say
"the result will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably) using information from independent sources. In such cases, if any new information comes into the public domain within 72 hours of settlement, then Betfair shall (acting reasonably) determine either: (i) whether the market should be reinstated or resettled in light of this new information"

Your best avenue of appeal is probably to say that the official Carling Cup website says it was a Costa goal. http://www.capitalonecup.co.uk/news/article/capital-one-cup-final-match-repo...

Last week Preston vs Man Utd a similar goal was given to the Preston player. Of course the bookies were probably quite pleased that any Preston player scored first rather than a Man Utd player, and they are happy Costa didn't score.

However I don't think this really stands up on Betfair when there are backers and layers of scorers, they need consistency or they should stop offering the markets.

Terrys goal was also deflected in off kane LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Terrys was on target before the deflection. Costas and the Preston players weren't.
