The standard of the football is so poor. The games are so dijointed with both teams just trying not to lose rather than actually win games... Such a waste of time for all involved. I can't believe these players get paid to play football. The lower  non leagues in this country are 20 times better than this rubbish. The players can't even control the ball FFS. Such a terrible spectacle.

This is where Blatter sees the future lies FFS.

30m mins left in the Ghana game and 0-0 nearly evens, that says it all.

Didn't Algeria draw 0-0 with England a few years ago?

We must have brought them down to our level Laugh

should be renamed to the "African cup of Unders"

Agree about the back to lay, but the standard of football is just so terrible. I can't watch "Professional" footballers play like this. Its suppose to be entertainment. The whole tournament has just been drivel from the 1st game..

Well said, players should have a minimum standard of the basics:

Ball control
sportsmanship
team work
when miles from the goal instead of shooting (which will have no chance) look to pass a teammate nearer the goal etc...

Those are the very basics of football you've listed there, but very lacking from what Ive seen of this tournament.

Ghana have a striker in their squad who has spent the last 6 months playing for Cambridge in league two. Which says a lot about their overall quality

the worst part is people are actually paying these players to play football??  the standard is utter gash. its so bad. They shoot from 40 yards, pass it straight out for a throw in and then just lump 5 yard passes straight to opposition players. - The standard of crossing is just about the worst I have seen. My boy is 4 and he can pass it better than these "professionals" - its embarrasing to be honest.
Report bickers56 January 23, 2015 5:40 PM GMT
and to top it off, the referee blows for a foul every 25 seconds whenever there is the remotest touch on a player...

I'm a compulsive gambler but I gave up betting on this s hit after the insect invasion
It's the most corrupt poorly run, poorly played sport event on earth.
Absolute rubbish and not a genuine passport in sight.

I haven't had a bet on it and still feel massively frustrated watching it. God knows how people are feeling that have actually put money on a team to score!!!

can the ref go more than 30 seconds without blowing his whistle??? FFS. Don't worry though, they all earn about 100k a year minimum to play like this. You don't get much for your money any more in football do you!!
Report bickers56 January 23, 2015 7:40 PM GMT
what african nations competition have these idiotic commentators been watching.. "even and open" - Are you taking the p!ss?
Report jermaine defonebox January 23, 2015 7:51 PM GMT
They seem to play the bore fest about every 9 months. None of this 4 year cycle for them. It's their annual holiday for most if them. An excuse to miss the worst weather here.
