As I said earlier today, I don't like backing odds on away teams, but thought the most likeliest result was an away win. Stoke and football are 2 words that don't match, well done to all Chelsea backers and have a great Christmas all you footy fans.

Sadly, most sides playing against superior opposition these days are happy not to get a hammering and are content to "stay in the game" until the latter stages, as the co-commentator pointed out. I was wondering at what stage Stoke were actually going to give it a go but that time never arrived! Why didn't Hughes send them out in the second half and throw the kitchen sink at Chelsea. What was the worst that could happen? They might have gone 2-0 down.......hang on a second they did, but without the suggestion that they ever really tried to get an equaliser.

Chelsea bus hard to breakdown whoever the opposition is. Mourinho set out with two DM's for the cleansheet and hoped they'd nick one or two, which they did.... Matic MOTM. Effective but not pretty.
