Liverpool very poor, under enormous pressure tonight. Basel are a decent outfit and will be very dangerous. 1.84 is too short for the home side. LAY the Reds.

Juve are comfortable seeing off the Serie A fodder but at CL level, they remain disappointing. Athetico Madrid top the group and are a very good side, like last season. I think it'll be a low scoring draw, but I'd rather just lay Juve at 2.18.

Agree totally with you Platini Sad

Apart from last season - which was the exception that proves the rule - I rarely back Liverpool as the odds are almost always poor value and far too short Mischief

the trick is to spot the value early enough to take advantage - as was the case with not laying Liverpool last season - when the bigots kept trying to jump on a bandwagon that had stopped rolling along sometime before CoolLaughCool

Isn't there likely to become a point that Juventus will settle for a point too. Yes they can win the group, but qualifying is the most important task of all. I can't see them overcommitting if it's a draw after 60 minutes or so, a loss would likely leave them out of the competition (Olympiakos lead the H2H with Juventus).

Especially as Juventus need to win by 2 goals to win the group.

Yes, I toyed with the idea of backing the draw with a view to trading in-running, but Athletico are dangerous, so it's a lot safer just laying Juve.

You can also envisage a scenario where both teams will be happy with 0-0 after a certain time in the game.

Not so sure. In Serie A, Juventus have won 6 from 6 home games scoring an average of 3 goals per game and only conceding 0.5.
In La Liga, Atletico are only scoring an average of a goal a game away, yet conceding the same average there or thereabouts.

A lay of Atletico seems the safer bet.

as usual, the market are thinking the complete opposite to me - money piling on Juve. They must have seen something I haven't.

they've been utterly woeful in the CL in recent seasons. not sure battering pub teams in serie a counts for much these days. it's probably even weaker than the shockingly bad premiership

Juventus apparent invincibility at home?
By:

When: 09 Dec 14 18:19
Yep, it's one thing beating the likes of Malmo and Olympiakos at home, but their record v better sides is woeful. Too many draws is their problem. And you'd fancy the real good sides to beat them comfortably. Real or Barcelona would be strongly fancied. Athletico not that far behind in quality.

I believe they have won nearly
30 consecutive matches at home
in the league, so I'm not surprised
if their draw stats are weak!!

Basel are here for a 0-0 draw imo!

i like this bet because when i watched juventus in their last game at home vs torino, they were very poor and needed a screamer from pirlo in injury time. torino were so so unlucky. also i didnt watch it but they were held by fiorentina away last game

Basel will settle for a draw but hope to score a couple.

both matches panning out pretty much as expected. Basel with a fully deserved lead - should be further ahead - likely more goals in the second half?

I wouldn't lay them this weekend.

Why not?
By:

When: 12 Dec 14 10:42
Three reasons. United have a piss-poor defence. Liverpool can always raise their game for a game against United. Liverpool are at 4.8.

I will wait until they are at odds on playing a lowly team before I lay them again.

One percenter, at the risk of ruffling you
make no direct connect with the betting,
and its prices that are backed/layed..NOT
teams, having said that, Liverpool will be
favourite next Tuesday evening at Dean Court,
let's hope we get the right result there!!

Kenilworth,

"Pity you (Apparently) gave away money in
your rush to green up, why?"

Perhaps it woud help if you stood corrected at the right times, for example, each time you are about to hit the "post reply" button.

Not all on here are gamblers you have to understand, and some are prepared to give a view pre-game.

clough..I can only respond to posts, and that's what
I did, I gave my opinion on some peoples rush to 'green
up', that poster suggesting greening up is the thing to
do. I disagreed, and say so.
