Couple of guys in work today mentioned the Notts County price, bit of a strange one. Thought Boro going off 2.04/06 against Watford last weekend was low also

I layed Walsall at 2.58 and can avoid any loss as soon as County hit 2.72, but I'm not sure what to do now. I'd love to think there's a great chance the price will plummet but this is only League One and you can never trust the market to apply logic and reason.
They should be around evens. It really is daft.I layed Walsall at 2.58 and can avoid any loss as soon as County hit 2.72, but I'm not sure what to do now. I'd love to think there's a great chance the price will plummet but this is only League One and
Walsall prices are just very strange. Away from home been favs/jt favs at Port Vale (D), Scunthorpe (L), Gillingham (D), Crawley (L). They were a bigger price at home to Chesterfield (W) last time than they were away at Crawley, and they also won at home to Preston when easy to back at 3.4. Notts County aren't that great and have rushed up the table by beating three of the bottom four, and have a poor recent record against Walsall. Walsall won 5-1 at County in January, but have only won 1/15 away in the league since then. All very odd, but not sinister odd

Apart from obviously their league positions, recent results and home advantage, there are a lot of factors that point to Walsall. They team news I read was that they are at full strength for the first time this season and there is certainly a case that they are currently playing better than Notts County, despite recent results and they won 5-1 there last season. The outright spreads rate the 2 teams equal, saying that they will both achieve 40 points from now until the end of the season. Odds are disappointing because I was looking to back Walsall, which I'm not now, but not that surprising.

Assuming that NC and Walsall are roughly equal in footballing terms would still mean that home advantage makes NC clear favourites. Huge value backing NC or laying Walsall imo. I've maxed out on this.

ffs get real walsall not won away this season, scored 3 goals in 7 games losing 4 and drawinig 3 , not played a team away above 13th, county should win ythis

Did anyone also notice it is McGovern's (Mirror) 'Bet of the Day' too - I was actually reading it this morning on the train and was tempted to do a massive bet on NC. Feeling like I dodged a bullet. He even wrote 'unless the bookies know something I don't...'

And just to show I don't believe in the forum curse I'm saying Walsall will not score in second-half. PS is there an option to delete this post a bit later?

Walsall have had plenty of chances regardless that the goals were a pen and an og. Not like they've been particularly lucky to be leading. Probably just about deserve it.

DOnt feel too bad people! It was a decent price. I layed Walsall and I would do it again! SOmetimes it just doesnt come in! Plenty more to come in out there!

I'm not bothered. Not at fugging bothered. I don't care about this ferking result. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. That's what betting's about we pay our money and take a chance. Let's move on.

stu County had a couple of injuries. Walsall were at full strength. Walsall haven't been getting the results that their performances deserved. They completed outplayed Crawley in their last away game despite losing. By contrast County have been riding their luck.

Not just my pocket talking but something very dodgy about this match from the word go, and the way that walsall were 'gifted' their 2 goals with an OG and what looked like a deliberate hand-ball to give them a penalty, we can all have a laugh about it and say yeah we all lost our hard earned money haha so what but its about time someone looked into dodgy crooked sh1t like this and something is done about it

ok, get what you're saying Clyde - still not convinced those reasons enough personally to make them favourites away from home. Those sort of (weakish) reasons are almost never enough to make a team jollies away from home, so why this IMO.

I don't have a clue how you would go about reporting this. Something didn't seem right especially betting before game and during first-half when percentages were often in the range 80% to 120%. Yes I lost. But football's a game of opinions and unfortunately I, and a lot of other people, called this one wrong. As to whether it was fixed or not there will be some authority monitoring this. Personally I doubt it was fixed. Maybe in a few years time we'll find out. I'll move on and think about things like this in the future before betting. This will be difficult for me as I tend to look for prices I consider to be wrong.
Clydebank. If that's the league table it's wrong. Notts are still 6th.

Its not just all about the losing its also the way in which it happened, helping another team to win by scoring an OG and then deliberately handling the ball in the area to give away a penalty is just plain fraud and nothing more than cheating pure and simple

That is a table based on this season Charlie, it just doesn't take into account the final result. Actually it's a couple of games out of date, but if you compare it to the official table and you picked 2 teams from it who diverged the most from the official table it would be Notts County and Walsall. So the prices didn't surprise me too much

Walsall and Nottingham - two filthy little places. I'd be very tempted to drive up and piss all over their grubby little streets if we didn't have guests coming round for supper.

Once more I must apologise. Tomorrow is the Sabbath and I have to spread God's word (only he knows why he can't do it himself (lazy ****)). Next week I have to perform that long forgotten pastime called work - most of you idle twats can look that up in a dictionary. Come next Saturday I will be laying the fukc out of Walsall to recover loses occurred. Which will bring me back to Sunday. Until we have a complete month of Sunday's followed by a complete month without Sunday's I'm busy.

For me I think Sugarfoot's post earlier in the thread offers the best explanation regarding the price of Walsall today... it appears they are over-bet every week when playing away from home... maybe some big punter has been operating the Brimardon system on Walsall's away games and has been splashing a lot of cash week in week out... finally he has got the win he sought...

Lost quite a lot on Walsall and a bit on Charlton. Liverpool was neutral, won a tiny bit on Baa Baas plus 29.5, won some on Watford, Bournemouth was good for me as was Barca -2. (I think all bets were posted except Baa Baas as nobody reads rugby threads).
Today's not really kicked off yet except laid India at very short odds (but doesn't look too good) and laid Nantes at 2.3 who were losing but are now drawing.
Can't find a bet on Manchester derby as yet. Laid Bordeaux at 2.3 and Mouscron at 4.5 (but they've shortened to 4.2). Other's still in pipe-line.
