Partizan unbeaten so far this season winning 5 league and 2 Europa matches. Pochettino confirmed squad rotation with no Adebayor, Rose, Dembele, Chadli, or Kaboul travelling.

Possible Spurs line-up :
LLoris, Naughton, Fazio, Vertnoghen, Davies, Stambouli, Bentaleb, Lennon, Paulinho, Townsend, Kane

partizan are utter garbage. haven't won a game the last 2 times they've made the CL or europa league group stages

spurs generally see off moderate and poor opposition with mix and match sides with the minimum of fuss
Report jed.davison September 18, 2014 1:21 PM BST
I would worry about Spurs fans travelling there after we bombed their country for no reason whatsoever.

scraping past neftci baku of azerbaijan in both games, one down to 2 og's and the other down to a 90th minute winner doesn't exactly mean anything. winning 5 league games in a league as poor as theirs means precisely zero for tonight's game either.

not saying the level of competition is the same but you'd rather go into a match having won 7 than lost 7 Tongue Out

I thought it was Danny Rose we were supposed to be slagging off before the team even walks onto the pitch, now that Dawson has left?

It's a hard job keeping an eye on who the latest Spurs boo-boy is.
Report jed.davison September 18, 2014 1:59 PM BST
I've never slagged Dawson off, that knee injury cattled him as a top-flight player imo, before that he was great for us and at least he was still putting it all in after that.

Rose is a joke player, and Paulinho isn't even a player of any kind.

I'm happy to point these things out but as I said before on the Spurs thread, I would never boo a Spurs player if I was at the game. Even Robbie Keane.

how come Vorm doesn't replace Lloris in the random "possible Spurs line-up"?
Report mafeking September 18, 2014 2:19 PM BST
i'd expect lloris to play. would be a bit odd to name 3 captains and then have none of them playing in the following game

vorm will surely play against forest next week

I'm stuck on this one. My initial thoughts was the price was wrong for the possible team-sheet which I guess the drift has suggested. Think I'll leave it alone, don't know enough about Belgrade.
Report mafeking September 18, 2014 5:18 PM BST
in umpteen recent attempts at the europa group stage can only think of spurs losing 2 away games one to udinese in the dying days of the ramos reign and to kazan when redknapp sent out a very weak 2nd/3rd XI. about 4 or 5 of them never made a proper first team appearance

they nearly always find a way to muddle through to a result
Report mafeking September 18, 2014 5:28 PM BST
would agree with hippie's general point though. seems an unnecessary number of changes given the next 2 matches are at home to possibly the worst side in the league and forest in the cup. much more scope to make lots of changes for that one surely
Report sageform September 18, 2014 5:32 PM BST
Dawson was always my favourite in the back four once Campbell had retired. He played really well for Hull on Monday.
Report hippie September 18, 2014 5:36 PM BST
I don't think this is the game to be experimenting in.

The Partizan team is the players they regularly put out so they know each other and they've scored at least 2 goals in every game they've played this season (Europe and domestic) except the 0-0 draw at Ludogorets in the CL qualifier.
Report propunter1 September 18, 2014 5:37 PM BST
I don't think Poch dropped these players to rest them. They are not playing because other players need play time for fitness and self belief purpose.
Report propunter1 September 18, 2014 5:40 PM BST

Yes, Kane deliberately hit the bar in the first minute in order to protect the 0-0 one point project.

Why do people expect to see the Harlem Globetrotters every year?

An unfamiliar team, playing away, kept a clean sheet and the other game in the group finished as a draw. Qualification is most definitely on.

Levy has won a Carling Cup in the time he's been at the club...the chance of them winning the Europa is close to nil Silly
Report sageform September 18, 2014 7:58 PM BST
Yes they should qualify but the lack of goals is a big worry. They only have one dangerous striker in Adebayor and he is getting older now.
Report mafeking September 18, 2014 7:58 PM BST
partizan better i than expected them to be

spurs seemed too happy to keep possession and take the draw
