partizan are utter garbage. haven't won a game the last 2 times they've made the CL or europa league group stages
spurs generally see off moderate and poor opposition with mix and match sides with the minimum of fuss |
|
By:
I would worry about Spurs fans travelling there after we bombed their country for no reason whatsoever.

cluster bombs as well to make matters worse

scraping past neftci baku of azerbaijan in both games, one down to 2 og's and the other down to a 90th minute winner doesn't exactly mean anything. winning 5 league games in a league as poor as theirs means precisely zero for tonight's game either.

not saying the level of competition is the same but you'd rather go into a match having won 7 than lost 7

after this weeks European results we seem to have over-estimated how good the EPL is again

one of the least hospitable cities in european football i would say. a toulouse fan was beaten to death before a game against partizan 5 years ago

i'd rather go in to the game having played professional football teams instead of local butchers and gravediggers imho

so is it "all aboard the Spurs train"?

You'd have to be a total mentalist to back a team with Paulinho in it.
|
|
By:
we should win easy but if paulinho does indeed start, i won't be backing us

I thought it was Danny Rose we were supposed to be slagging off before the team even walks onto the pitch, now that Dawson has left?
It's a hard job keeping an eye on who the latest Spurs boo-boy is. |
|
By:
I've never slagged Dawson off, that knee injury cattled him as a top-flight player imo, before that he was great for us and at least he was still putting it all in after that.
Rose is a joke player, and Paulinho isn't even a player of any kind. I'm happy to point these things out but as I said before on the Spurs thread, I would never boo a Spurs player if I was at the game. Even Robbie Keane. |

it's Bentaleb rog

Is it?
Thanks! |

how come Vorm doesn't replace Lloris in the random "possible Spurs line-up"?
|
|
By:
i'd expect lloris to play. would be a bit odd to name 3 captains and then have none of them playing in the following game
vorm will surely play against forest next week |
|
By:
If he fields that team he's taking the piss.

lay gutless spurs imo

team: Lloris (c), Naughton, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Stambouli; Lennon, Paulinho, Townsend; Kane
exact 11 as predicted bt the themover. Come on Paulinho, let's show how good you are to the ignorant and intellectually challenged. |

I'm stuck on this one. My initial thoughts was the price was wrong for the possible team-sheet which I guess the drift has suggested. Think I'll leave it alone, don't know enough about Belgrade.
|
|

in umpteen recent attempts at the europa group stage can only think of spurs losing 2 away games one to udinese in the dying days of the ramos reign and to kazan when redknapp sent out a very weak 2nd/3rd XI. about 4 or 5 of them never made a proper first team appearance
they nearly always find a way to muddle through to a result |
|
By:
would agree with hippie's general point though. seems an unnecessary number of changes given the next 2 matches are at home to possibly the worst side in the league and forest in the cup. much more scope to make lots of changes for that one surely
|
|
By:
Dawson was always my favourite in the back four once Campbell had retired. He played really well for Hull on Monday.
|
|
By:
I don't think this is the game to be experimenting in.
The Partizan team is the players they regularly put out so they know each other and they've scored at least 2 goals in every game they've played this season (Europe and domestic) except the 0-0 draw at Ludogorets in the CL qualifier. |
|
By:
I don't think Poch dropped these players to rest them. They are not playing because other players need play time for fitness and self belief purpose.
|
|
By:
hippie, agree with you 100 percent but our team will be fresher and more hungrier.

drab start from Spurs, looks like they're here for the point

looks utter k@ck

If it is still 0-0 after the hour mark and Poch puts in Lamela and Eriksen then i will back SPURS around 2.75
|
|
By:
sorry loper you;re right, the free-flowing attacking football is amazing
|

I'm curious what the first substitution will be. Hopefully it will be something more inspiring than Eriksen for Paulinho in the 60th minute.
