draw after 90 mins germany to win in extra time

will probably be a turgid game with both teams not wanting to lose
brazil without silva and neymar is a massive loss

hope i am wrong but it all points to a dour semi!

I think we'll see a replica of the Colombia game. Brazil will play frenetic 100mph football, non-stop, relentless until Germany crack. The Germans like the Colombians will not be able to keep their shape or get into any rhythm. I see Brazil taking an early lead and hanging on in the end, possibly nicking a late goal on the counter in the last few minutes.

Brazil 2-0 Germany

thinking of trading out on brazil v argentina name the finalists bet
things seem to be catching up with brazil and though germany looked poor in some games, shape looked better v france
home crowd seems the only big plus for brazil

plus the germans have much more experience this is their 4th WC semi final in a row... their players have been there and done it

plus they have been in the semis of the euros 2 years ago and the final in 2008.

i just think they will be far too streetwise for this emotional brazil team.

when you see all the brazilians crying all the time , it makes you wonder can they handle all this pressure.

the germans are mentally stronger and i think in this match the team that plays with the head and not the heart will win.

expect Low to outfox Scolari with clever tactics

also the fact that half the german team plays for Bayern is a huge plus in their favour

This is somewhat reminiscent of Germany v Italy in 2006. The Germans were really a poor team by their own standards in history, but on the back of the home crowd went to the semis and ran into a more experienced Italian side who knew how to get the job done. Germans are on the other side of that coin here, think they'll find a way to advance.

Rarely bet on the football, but have believed Germany will win this world cup from the off. 2.02 to qualify looks a great bet. gl

Brazil cant win if the referees are neutral. Markets have been right for the last 10 games in a row, on who will qualify. If you would have bet 100 euros on last 10 games, on who will qualify, you would have made 5000e money now. (if you put the winning back to the game).

Is this the eleventh time markets are correct? We shall see.

BARDOT: I think germany will lose for the exact same reasons you think they'll win.

"plus the germans have much more experience this is their 4th WC semi final in a row... their players have been there and done it
plus they have been in the semis of the euros 2 years ago and the final in 2008."

Yep been there so many times and LOST - they have picked up the bad habit of LOSING when it really matters. they're fantastic when it doesn't matter though.

"i just think they will be far too streetwise for this emotional brazil team. when you see all the brazilians crying all the time, it makes you wonder can they handle all this pressure."

Their emotion is their main weapon, it's what motivates them to play above themselves, it elevates them as players and as a team.

"the germans are mentally stronger and i think in this match the team that plays with the head and not the heart will win."

I couldn't disagree more. brazil will play with their hearts and their heads. the germans will only play with their heads.

"expect Low to outfox Scolari with clever tactics"

Because low has outfoxed so many managers on his way to winning...ehmm... well.. absolutely nothing.. nada.. zilch.. zip.. a big fat 0
Scolari meanwhile has actually won the World Cup before.
Oh sorry, i believe low has won the austrian budisliga once

Hi, I layed odds of 12 on over 4.5 at smarkets exchange (2% commission), which is the equivalent to backing under 4.5 at 1.0909 (to 4 decimal places).

It was part of an arb.

based on 81 international matches

In 6 WC matches to date he's given 5 penalties and 3 red cards.  At least one red card or a penalty in 5 of the 6 matches.  Should answer your question and might explain why FIFA picked him.

Based on those stats he's 3.5 times more likely to send a Brazil player off or give Germany a penalty than Howard Webb would be

He is a brave ref.  Tbh I think there is more pressure in the earlier matches.  It would have been a disaster for the tournament if Brazil had been knocked out early.  That disaster is now averted.
