Because I didn't give it that much thought at the time. But your idea that Brazil is a weird country because it dictates the voyage of the sun and hence sunset times is just plain bizarre.

Anyway, from recollection, I did point out that it would be lessened because Porto Alegre - in the southern hemisphere and winter - was the most southerly of all the WC venues.
