how do the bookings work in this wc, do they carry on into the 2nd phase? if so neymar might deliberately get himself booked if brazil are winning comfortably. miss the meaningless 3rd game. bookings wiped clean. also fit and fresh for the ko phase
just a thought fancy mexico might do well here. i'm laying brazil. |
By:
I wasn't too impressed with mexico against cameroom tbh - i wasnt impressed with brazi either - ill predict 2-1 brasil
By:
laying Brazil at home in the World Cup seems madness to me
By:
Mexico +1.5 on the Asian handicap is 4/5. I reckon it could be close, 2-1 or 1-0
By:
Yes metaphor bookings do carry over
"Players receive a one match ban if they pick up a single yellow card in two different games from the beginning of the group stage until the end of the quarterfinal matches, at which point single yellow cards will be deleted" |

if brazil have a comfortable lead, neymar might just get himself booked
By:
think you can right off mexicos effort against cameroon due to the conditions, when i saw them play a friendly the other week against portugal they looked pretty crisp.
im on peralta to score first and 1-0, 2-0 mexico, 105/1 bost on skybat for a fiver. thats all im doing pre off, ill wait and see if the ref sings the brazillian national anthem or not |
By:
should be goals here surely...mexico are very attacking minded ansd brazil don't worry too much about defending.

referee :
Cuneyt Cakir (Turkey) any info on this guy? |
By:
That's new to me, every world cup I remember the yellow cards were wiped out after the group stages , this must be the first where it's extended to the quarters, imo his ego is too big and wants to be top scorer, should still avoid a booking to rack up goals against cameroon esp if it's a dead match for both, sponsors demand he plays every game

i agree. shirley neymar is better off getting booked. means nothing missing the next game.
they be all but through. goals look good again. can see at least 2 brazil goals, possibly a mexico go possibly 3 or 4-1. |
By:
Why is there an assumption that he is in some way going to get booked anyhow and therefore must sacrifice himself....add to that any ref would be scared to be the guy who forces him to miss a game!!!
By:
what are you on about? sacrifice himself? hed probably be rested for the next game anyway.
its not the world cup final, its a meaningless game against one of the worst teams in the competition. |
By:
you said he's better off getting himself booked...not me

brazil will be wanting to avoid spain so will be loathe to win this game
backing mexico 2-1 and laying brazil gll all |
By:
where???
By:
2nd half goals over 1.5 @ 1.91
By:
not really sure the avoiding spain thing means anything to brazil if they come 2nd prob face the dutch not exactly easy
By:
Brazil have never lost to Mexico at home.
I could see reasons why some were prepared to lay Brazil in the opening match, but this will be much more up their street, and you're getting a bigger price. I'm laying Mexico here. Expected them to be around 15/1. but only 9/1?? Easy decision. |

why they wanting to avoid spain when they beat them 3-0 last summer....
By:
well if they win tonight, you'll soon see

I repeat, Brazil have NEVER lost to Mexico at home.
We're talking football matches, not fecking friendlies, FFS !!! |
By:
spain might not even make it
By:
not sure if I understand the rush to get on Brazil. Mexico h2h very favourable added to last time beaten at home in this stadium and shocking performance last week. 90% of the money on Brazil. Someone's laying it and the layers are normally the winners.
By:
so whats that 3 games unbeaten? that's very scientific of you
By:
that stat doest mean anything, this brazil side (not the one 20, 30 , 40 years ago) have played this mexico side how many times? they're playing each other not playing history

I feel the first 5 mins will be a good indicator of how this game will go
