WHAT THE FECKIN HELL IS THE GUY TALKING ABOUT

IT HIT THE FECKIN POST AND THE KEEPER TOOK IT OVER THE LINE

SHUT THE FECK UP PEARCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Report JOCI Club June 15, 2014 9:13 PM BST
He's a complete half-wit.

Even Martin Keown could work out that two separate incidents were being evaluated by the goal line technology. The first when hitting the post (adjudged as no-goal), and the second when it crossed the line after hitting the keeper (goal).

What an embarrassing period of commentary from the man!
Report glory hornet June 15, 2014 9:13 PM BST
absolute c0ck , clueless , and an embarrassment to football commentary
Report hfink June 15, 2014 9:13 PM BST
He is thick as $hit. The technology works.
Report cabbage patch June 15, 2014 9:14 PM BST
Pearce got it totally wrong and enflames the situation,  Thinks he is beginning to realise (or is being told in his microphone) that he screwed up and is now more humble.  Apology - don't hold your breath
Report Biscuit1979 June 15, 2014 9:15 PM BST
"Oh it's signalled no goal"

Yes because it hit the post Jonathan and went in off the keeper. You're there, open your eyes you fat mug.

Cannot knock the man for supporting my lot, but tonight was embarrassing
Report Darlo Bantam June 15, 2014 10:39 PM BST
Radio commentary did the same. Took them about 15 to 20 minutes to work out they were two different situations rather than the "technology changed its mind".

Report Just Checking June 16, 2014 9:57 AM BST
He's ok, the above accusing him of being wrong or thick really have absolutely no self awareness, and I'd hazard a guess would be the wrong side of a zero leaning curve in any objective IQ test comparison with the man.

In fact I do wonder what makes some BF football forumites so angry and bitter. Living in their mums spare room can't be THAT bad?! LaughLaughLaugh
Report CheltenhamRoar June 16, 2014 10:10 AM BST
Do these half wit commentators(and some players) not realise that the referee gets a signal sent to his watch when the ball has crossed the line?Thick as pig shíte.
Report FIGJAM June 16, 2014 10:13 AM BST
CR different system from the prem, for once German one inferior to British( to which there has been no controversy.
Report CheltenhamRoar June 16, 2014 10:16 AM BST
in what way is it different FIG?The referee gets some sort of signal sent to him when the ball crosses the line.
The goal last night was given pretty much immediately.
Report Outpost June 16, 2014 10:25 AM BST
the goal line technology works fine.

it was the idiotic replay showing "no goal" before it crossed the line that caused the problem.

they only needed to show that it was a "goal" after it crossed the line.

the idiots running the system don't appear to have much of a clue as they are showing replays of balls as they cross the line on their way to the back of the net.

the technology isn't required for that scenario.
only for close or unclear or disputed calls.
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 10:28 AM BST

usually the first goal in the match, and showing the technology is working ....
Report CheltenhamRoar June 16, 2014 10:30 AM BST
What system are FIFA using? is it microchip in the ball or on the goal itself?
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 10:35 AM BST
GoalControl system—which costs around $250,000 to install per stadium—uses 14 high-speed cameras to track the ball’s position both on the field and in the air. If the ball passes the goal line, a buzzing smartwatch alerts the referee within a single second.
Report Super Hans June 16, 2014 4:24 PM BST
Like pearce, but last night was a shocker.

Was still bleeting about it even after Keown had explained it to him.

Was the perfect system as the replay confirmed it was an OG as appose to Benzemas goal.
Report Blackwater June 16, 2014 4:48 PM BST
Yeah, the technology worked perfectly in exactly the sort of situation it was designed to cover.

The clown with the microphone didn't understand the technology.

Here's my problem: As a viewer in Ireland, I watch the BBC coverage rather than listen to the muppets on RTE. But now the clowns on the Beeb are just as bad. So what's a guy to do?
Report CheltenhamRoar June 16, 2014 4:54 PM BST
Commentary on BBC and UTV are far worse that RTE.
Long gone are the days of the likes of Motson,Barry Davies, and Moore
Report martin_593114 June 16, 2014 4:58 PM BST
I wonder if the goal would have been given had the technology not been in place.
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 4:59 PM BST
good question martin, i doubt they could have given it
Report martin_593114 June 16, 2014 5:00 PM BST
On first play I didn't think it was in tbf
Report mightymoyes June 16, 2014 5:01 PM BST
not a chance it would have been given, look how many off-sides theyve got wrong.
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 5:06 PM BST
the replays i have seen dont show it as a goal !

ive not seen an actual freeze frame with all of the ball over all of the line

lineker seemed surprised it was given
Report 1st time poster June 16, 2014 5:12 PM BST
donnys correct the ball was in midair and was only over the line for a nano second which no camera managed to show conclusively, this is ok while we trust the technology but if theres ever a mistake the trusts gone,
under this system what does the monitor official see a tv picture or the digitalimage they show the fans
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 5:15 PM BST
system has 5mm margin of error so i assume it was at least 5 mm over line, and probably not much more
Report Just Checking June 16, 2014 5:23 PM BST
The view from above and behind the goal it just didn't look over the line at all, yet the graphic showed a noticable gap, very strange.
Report 1st time poster June 16, 2014 5:26 PM BST
as they say on the racing forum
they can put the line anywhere, like i say its all fine whilst everyone is trusting the technology
Report 1st time poster June 16, 2014 5:29 PM BST
with 14 camera,s and a clear view from one side and close to the post on the other ,i,d have expected a far clearer tv image of proof
Report donny osmond June 16, 2014 5:43 PM BST
the cameras for the goal line technology are not the tv cameras

maybe a print will emerge of ball over the line

they are 500 frames per second which is much higher than tv cameras
Report mightymoyes June 16, 2014 5:51 PM BST
