He's a complete half-wit.

Even Martin Keown could work out that two separate incidents were being evaluated by the goal line technology. The first when hitting the post (adjudged as no-goal), and the second when it crossed the line after hitting the keeper (goal).

What an embarrassing period of commentary from the man!

Pearce got it totally wrong and enflames the situation,  Thinks he is beginning to realise (or is being told in his microphone) that he screwed up and is now more humble.  Apology - don't hold your breath

Radio commentary did the same. Took them about 15 to 20 minutes to work out they were two different situations rather than the "technology changed its mind".

He's ok, the above accusing him of being wrong or thick really have absolutely no self awareness, and I'd hazard a guess would be the wrong side of a zero leaning curve in any objective IQ test comparison with the man.

In fact I do wonder what makes some BF football forumites so angry and bitter. Living in their mums spare room can't be THAT bad?! LaughLaughLaugh

Do these half wit commentators(and some players) not realise that the referee gets a signal sent to his watch when the ball has crossed the line?Thick as pig shíte.

CR different system from the prem, for once German one inferior to British( to which there has been no controversy.

in what way is it different FIG?The referee gets some sort of signal sent to him when the ball crosses the line.
The goal last night was given pretty much immediately.

the goal line technology works fine.

it was the idiotic replay showing "no goal" before it crossed the line that caused the problem.

they only needed to show that it was a "goal" after it crossed the line.

the idiots running the system don't appear to have much of a clue as they are showing replays of balls as they cross the line on their way to the back of the net.

the technology isn't required for that scenario.
only for close or unclear or disputed calls.

usually the first goal in the match, and showing the technology is working ....

What system are FIFA using? is it microchip in the ball or on the goal itself?
By:

When: 16 Jun 14 10:35
GoalControl system—which costs around $250,000 to install per stadium—uses 14 high-speed cameras to track the ball’s position both on the field and in the air. If the ball passes the goal line, a buzzing smartwatch alerts the referee within a single second.

Like pearce, but last night was a shocker.

Was still bleeting about it even after Keown had explained it to him.

Was the perfect system as the replay confirmed it was an OG as appose to Benzemas goal.

Yeah, the technology worked perfectly in exactly the sort of situation it was designed to cover.

The clown with the microphone didn't understand the technology.

Here's my problem: As a viewer in Ireland, I watch the BBC coverage rather than listen to the muppets on RTE. But now the clowns on the Beeb are just as bad. So what's a guy to do?

Commentary on BBC and UTV are far worse that RTE.
Long gone are the days of the likes of Motson,Barry Davies, and Moore
