Just got off the phone to my sources close to the England camp and I can confirm that Roy will be going with Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Lallana, Henderson, Gerrard, Stirling, Rooney, Sturridge, have also been reliably informed Italy’s starting line up will be  Buffon; Abate, Bonucci, Paletta, Chiellini, De Rossi, Pirlo, Marchiso; Candreva; Verratti, Balotelli..

Might actually be a good decision to bring our best player Wilshere on in the second half, with his creativity in the  baking  sun the tiring Italians wont be able to deal with him, until then our creativity is only coming from the wingers, only hope is Sterling times his runs well and doesn't leave Johnson exposed.

Referee: Kuipers (Dutch)
In his last 8 International matches he’s given  2 reds and on average 3.8 yellow cards a game, last 8 matches in all comps he’s given 1 red and averaged 5 yellow a match (included the 12 yellows in the champs league final/extra time)

I would imagine with a Dutch referee used to the Eredivise would allow for free flowing football and wont acquiesce to the constant diving expected from the eye talians

The thing with Johnson is he likes to get forward and actually has a shot on him, if he keeps crossing the half way line the Italians will score more than 2

because rooney has never scored a goal at a world cup and Italy are not known for scoring a lot, 2/1 is temptation althouhg, england cant beat italy or uruguay and should aims for a drawn match and win the last game you can go through with 5 points

at that price, it has to be backed.

Italy are not the team people think they are either, their recent results are shocking

Your basing this on Italy's friendly results? They never attempt to win until they have to. They even drew 2-2 with Haiti in a friendly which tells you all you need to knowWink

How people can discount Englands recent performances makes me chuckle.
I know they were only friendly's
(and you get no points for winning them)
But they have been poop.
Do you really think they are just gonna flick a switch and turn into World Beaters now We hit the group stage ?
If they make it out of the group it will be because of how pants the other 2 were.

Sh!t pitch, sweltering heat, neither side wants to obviously lose the first match sadly a 0-0 looks a distinct possibility.

England have only lost two competitive games in 90/120 mins since August 2008. As dour, tedious and clumsy as England are, they are not easy to beat. If I had to have a bet I'd go draw. I'm just hoping it doesn't send me to sleep with another game after to bet on.

Ireland caused Italy a lot of problems withe the pace on teh counter attack.

They don't have a lot of pace at the back and if England can knick the ball off them then you expect Sturridge/Rooney and Sterling to take full advantage of the situation compared to the Irish attackers.

No idea what to back though yet, will probably go over 1.5 goals again. For some reason, England matches do usually yield a lot of corners though.

almost anything could realistically happen in this match, there is a very wide spectrum of likely outcomes

which of those is the most likely is any body's guess, I was all set to lump on Italy but their prep was as uninspiring as England's so I dunno now

England couldn't get a kick in the Euro'12 0-0 and the 2014 version don't look any better to me. I'm genuinely surprised it's a pick 3 market and make Eng a solid lay.

yes I cannot / could not see England beating Italy but the recent prep games make me unsure

but then again, Holland didn't prep well either

Will wait to see if Immobile starts before deciding to back Italy. If it's Balotelli upfront alone then shows that Italy will be happy to get a draw as well.

I think Italy have too much class for England. I heard your manager say he wasn't going to do anything special to stop Pirlo. If that's true then you will lose heavily.

"I heard your manager say he wasn't going to do anything special to stop Pirlo"

Mind games. What he says in public and what he tells his team are probably two different things. He's not going to give Italy an edge by saying 'yes we're sh*t scared of Pirlo and have a big job controlling him'

Hodgson knows very well what Pirlo can do.

biscuit, that's why I said "if it's true" but if he really does leave Pirlo alone England will lose.

He didn't know then in 2012 then biscuit? As Pirlo never had an easier international match in his life.
By:

When: 14 Jun 14 12:59
I'm going to watch the start of the match before I bet and if Pirlo's given free reign, as he was last time you played them, I'm going big on Italy to win.
