They could do worse than lure Juup Heynckes out of retirement. He is 68, however. Or the Switzerland manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, who is 65. Interestingly, the latter has announced he is retiring from his job after the World Cup in July so will be free then. Both are double Champions League winners (along with Mourinho and the late Happel, the only ones to win to it twice). I think United need an experienced chap for a couple of years to rebuild. Both will relish the prospect of winning the Champions League with three different clubs, the Holy Grail for managers.

Rudi Garcia could be a clever choice. (Although there's no chance he actually will be the choice!) He's considerably strengthened every team he's gone to, and has a good eye for business. Plays strong attacking football, but builds from strong defensive foundations. Ambitious, and could do very well at a big club. Taking that Roma side to a very impressive second place is no mean achievement.

sparky and bruce ex players, experienced managers won f1ck all but good at keeping teams in the division and would make a great double act

That's my biggest worry RF! I think they'd do brilliantly to get him, and of the realistic candidates he must be near the best.
Can't decide whether he would go for it. Obviously he would immediately sever his relationship with Liverpool fans, but I think that would bother him less than my mates do. Think he would put his career first and it's clearly a massive job. Can't see Utd going for it at all, mind you. |

By:
I think, even with their admittedly limited knowledge of football, the Glazers realise that employing Rafa would end in a lynching.

Neil Lennon
Used to goldfish bowl working conditions (allbeit on a lower level) Done as much as he can in existing job Inexpensive in comparison with others Wouldn't take any sh1t Lesser ego than many in the frame - a necessity since the overhaul of Man Utd will take a couple of years and will dent many bigger egos, especially those used to / demanding CL football 66/1 |

lennon has done nothing special up there.
couldn't win the SPL until rangers imploded and is now picking up titles in a non competitive bankrupt league. he went out of the champions league in bottom place in the group stages and had an early exit from both domestic cup competitions up there. wouldn't think any team in the EPL far less man utd would be even slightly interested in him. |

Van Gaal, Ancelotti - hiddink or Martinez as ousiders. Those are only 4 I can see going unless Klopp does a U turn

Telegraph/Guardian can't remember which one said Blanc been ruled out, whatever that's worth.
Surely the professor will submit his impeccable cv. Too bad it looks like these owners are trying to recruit a manager like an 8 year old child. |
|
By:
Yeah. Blanc ruled himself out yesterday and is due to or has just signed a new contract at PSG. Though I never 100% believe the "I'm ruling myself out" line.

Paper was suggesting he's been ruled out by United.

Directors must be accountable to share-holders at clubs ...where player power ..(TRY ) to run clubs , and demands are expected to be met ..by fans ...are we saying that players are not trying 100% in games . ..did d.m. get them ---OFF - SIDE BY ROONEY'S DEMANDS BEING MET ...
REMEMBER it was quoted that he was in bad books ? ... players must be allowed to make a statement to clear the air of what is really levelled at them. as a group of how many ? ...this was from early on in the season ..? very messy for new blood coming in to face the clear out that is maybe ? needed ..All a bit fishy ? and not totally understood ...Always said the wage structure at the club is wrong . we are in a TEAM GAME BUSINESS .AND SOMETHINGS DON'T ADD UP . yes I am good at sums ...more so if unpalatable demands are on the agenda .................. |
