Some assists much better than the finish.  Hate to see someone tap in from a yard after their teammate creates and then the scorer celebrates like they're a hero.

What's even worse is when a winger beats three men. avoids career-threatening tackles, makes it to the  bye line, chips in a perfect cross to striker in front of open goal, striker taps in, AND THEN THE STRIKER RUNS TO THE FANS TOTALLY IGNORING THE WINGER AND CELEBRATES LIKE HE HAD SCORED GOAL OF THE SEASON.

Wtf you on about? If you celebrate an assist surely it shows it's not all about yourself?

Checkmate; Both have done their job then. But agreed some strikers acknowledge their assists from team mates others don't.

i don't know who the two players your on about are but what is wrong with celebrating an assist? You've just helped your team score a goal....

You don't see it at Barca, for example. Celebrating an assist is a bit egotistical and ott imo.

Yea but at barca they score goals for fun, not the case at mid table fodder like southampton r manure r something, should celebrate if they want

I dont understand what you mean by celebrate? All i see if the player run up too the goalscorer and celebrate with them. Don't think ive ever seen a player actually run and slide ect when they have assisted a goal.

Why is it the players run to congratulate the player
who taps in from 2 yards when all the work is done by
others who are mainly ignored?

its another load of rollocks from the moderngame anyway,
a midfield player can play a shocking leg breaking pass which a striker through speed and bravery can turn into a goal and the midfielders gets an assist
or a deadball player can aim a cross to his centre forward miss him by 30 yds and the full back nods in and he still gets an assist
